This 2026, as we celebrate National Women’s Month, the conduct of women’s advocacy remains vital in promoting gender equality, raising awareness of women’s rights, and empowering every woman and girl to reach their full potential. Through a week-long series of activities conducted from March 9–17, 2026, across nine barangays, we successfully carried out education campaigns, strengthened community involvement, and promoted support for laws like the Magna Carta of Women. These efforts help build a society that is safe, inclusive, and fair for all. Women’s advocacy is not just a celebration—it is a call to action for everyone to stand together, uplift voices, and create lasting change.conducted

The activity was successfully in partnership with our stakeholders—the WCPD PNP, BFP, DTI, COMELEC, MHO, MNAO, and DSWD 4Ps—as we delivered women’s empowerment advocacy to barangay women’s associations.

Again, Happy Women's Month everyone 🥰☺️☺️

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) CARAGA Region successfully conducted a food redemption activity in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tubajon and the accredited local retailer, Hinimbangan Farmers Agrarian Reform Cooperative, as the partner establishment. The activity was conducted under the Walang Gutom Program, which aims to reduce the incidence of involuntary hunger among food-poor and vulnerable households by ensuring their regular access to nutritious and affordable food.

On January 28, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., held at the Barangay Sta. Cruz Gym, a total of 53 beneficiaries from nine (9) barangays were selected and validated by program workers. These beneficiaries were provided with Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards loaded with food vouchers worth ₱3,000.00, designed to offer a safe, efficient, and dignified way to access food assistance. Eligible beneficiaries may receive food vouchers for up to 36 months, subject to program guidelines, to ensure long-term food and nutrition support.

Through close coordination with LGUs, particularly the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the program ensures the effective identification of beneficiaries, the timely distribution of assistance, and the proper implementation of food redemption activities. This collaboration strengthens local service delivery, enhances community participation, and enables LGUs to respond more efficiently to the nutritional needs of vulnerable families—ultimately contributing to improved food security and overall well-being at the local level.

| The Municipality of Tubajon, in the aftermath of the devastating Typhoon , urgently needs your help. While the spirit of our people remains strong and resilient, the typhoon has inflicted widespread damage, leaving many families struggling to cope with the destruction.

Tubajon, one of the hardest-hit communities, is currently facing significant challenges. The immediate need is two-fold:

REBUILDING HOMES. Countless families lost their roofs and vital parts of their structures. They urgently require essential construction supplies—especially lumber, galvanized iron sheets, and nails—to repair and rebuild their damaged homes before the next rains come.

SUSTAINING FAMILIES. Access to basic food items like rice and canned goods is critical. Ensuring families have enough to eat will allow them to focus their limited resources and energy on the monumental task of reconstruction, rather than on daily survival.

You may send cash donations through Municipal Treasurer Aji Mae Y. Montilla:

GCash – 09309966462
Landback Surigao City – 0986396802

For food items, basic necessities, construction supplies, and other in-kind donations, please coordinate with Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Benjiemen Vargas:

[email protected]

The relief and rehabilitation efforts spearheaded by the Municipal Government led by Mayor Fely Pedrablanca are focused on providing these crucial materials to the affected residents of Tubajon, ensuring they can rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

Your generosity right now is more than just a donation — it is a lifeline. Every contribution, big or small, directly translates into a roof over a child's head or a meal on a family's table.

Together, we can help the people of Tubajon rise stronger from this disaster.

Thank you for your immediate compassion and support.
