MAKING WAVES: CSC CLASS 811-2026 SWIMMING LESSON

CAMP PERALTA, Jamindan, Capiz — Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) Class 811-2026 takes on the challenge of the water as they undergo swimming lessons at the 3ID Swimming Pool as part of their non-academic activities.

The candidates are required to traverse the 50-meter pool as part of their swim test, developing the endurance, confidence, and water-survival skills essential to becoming capable and resilient soldiers.

Swimming proficiency is an important soldiering skill, especially when operating in areas with water obstacles and during disaster response operations. In critical situations, the ability to swim and survive in the water can mean the difference between life and death—not only for the soldier but also for those they may be called upon to rescue.

MAP READING AND LAND NAVIGATION: A CRITICAL SKILL FOR SOLDIERS

Camp Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz — Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) Class 811-2026 demonstrated discipline, keen observation, sound decision-making, confidence, and attention to detail during the Graded Practical Exercise (GPE) on Land Navigation at the Battalion Retraining Facility (BRF), 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division, Philippine Army.

Composed of 143 determined candidates, CSC Class 811-2026 is nearing its first month of pre-entry training, facilitated and supervised by the 2nd Training Group (2TG) and supported by the 3rd Division Training School (3DTS), 3ID, PA.

As the candidates continue their training, exercises like this strengthen the discipline, confidence, and practical skills essential to becoming capable, resilient, and mission-ready soldiers.

Command Inspector General Validation: Upholding Excellence

Camp Chatto Training Area, Brgy. Macaas, Tubigon, Bohol — The Command Inspector General, Education and Training Command, Philippine Army, headed by Colonel Jasper Justito M. Pecson, conducted a validation of the 2nd Training Group.

The activity served as a follow-through to the findings of the Annual General Inspection (AGI), particularly in verifying the implementation of corrective actions and assessing the unit’s continuing compliance with established standards and requirements.

The validation also aimed to address remaining gaps, disseminate Command Guidance, and further prepare the unit for the succeeding AGI.

Through the collective efforts of its personnel and its sustained commitment to excellence, the 2nd Training Group retained its Certificate of Excellence Award after attaining an outstanding 98.98% rating during the 2026 AGI conducted in March this year.

This achievement reflects the unit’s unwavering dedication to maintaining high standards, strengthening institutional excellence, and delivering quality training in support of the Philippine Army’s mission.

Beyond the Basics: Intermediate Arnis Trainers Training Class 02-2026

The 2nd Training Group, Education and Training Command, Philippine Army, conducted the Opening Ceremony of the Intermediate Arnis Trainers Training Class 02-2026, attended by students from various Visayas-based units.

The training serves as the second level of the Arnis program, building upon the foundational skills acquired during the Basic Arnis Training conducted in 2025. It aims to further develop the participants’ skills and capabilities in Arnis and prepare them to serve as trainers within their respective units.

The program forms part of the Philippine Army’s continuing efforts to enhance soldiers’ knowledge and proficiency in Arnis, the national martial art and sport of the Philippines, while promoting physical fitness, discipline, and combat readiness.
