SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF SEARCH WARRANT LEADS TO THE ARREST OF SUSPECTED DRUG PERSONALITY IN MAIGO, LANAO DEL NORTE
Camp Gallego, Tubod, Lanao del Norte – At approximately 7:13 PM on June 20, 2025, a joint operation conducted by personnel of the Maigo Municipal Police Station (MMPS), the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO), and the Pantao Ragat Municipal Police Station (PRMPS) resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug personality.
The operation was carried out through the implementation of Search Warrant No. SW-25-0140, issued by Hon. Ali Ombra R. Bacaraman, Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 4, Hall of Justice, Iligan City, dated May 28, 2025. The warrant was issued for a violation of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), with PDEA Pre-Ops No. 30002-062025-0393.
The suspect, identified as alias “Markchel,” 40 years old, married, and a resident of Purok-6, Barangay Balagatasa, Maigo, Lanao del Norte, was arrested at his residence. Recovered during the search were the following items:
a. Seven (7) rectangular heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with an estimated total weight of 0.290 grams and a Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of Php 1,972.00; and
b. One (1) small black rectangular box.
The search and seizure were conducted in an orderly and lawful manner, documented using an Alternate Recording Device and witnessed by the suspect, a barangay official from Barangay Balagatasa, and a media representative.
Cases for violations of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of RA 9165 are being prepared for inquest filing. The suspect is currently under the custody of the Maigo MPS for proper documentation and further disposition. The confiscated items have been turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) of LDN PPO for quantitative and qualitative examination.
