MAIGO MPS NAB DRUG SUSPECT IN CHECKPOINT OPERATION

Camp Gallego, Tubod, Lanao del Norte—In a significant stride toward maintaining peace and order, personnel of Maigo Municipal Police Station (MMPS) successfully apprehended a suspected drug personality during a scheduled Overlapping Checkpoint conducted at Purok-6, Barangay Balagatasa, Maigo, Lanao del Norte, at around 7:25 PM on June 19, 2025.

The suspect, identified as alias “Lito,” 34 years old, and a resident of Purok-3, Poblacion, Bacolod, Lanao del Norte, was flagged down by checkpoint personnel while riding a black/red Skygo SG125 motorcycle without a plate number. Instead of complying, the suspect attempted to evade the checkpoint but was swiftly intercepted by alert personnel.

Initial observation noted the suspect was not wearing a helmet and appeared visibly rattled. When asked to present identification and pertinent documents, he voluntarily reached into his right pocket, inadvertently causing one (1) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), estimated to weigh 0.0200 grams with a street value of Php 500.00, to fall to the ground along with a cigarette wrapper, aluminum foil, and two (2) disposable lighters.

Responding officers immediately secured the suspect and called in barangay officials from Brgy. Balagatasa to witness the search and documentation of recovered items. Subsequent inspection yielded the following additional items:
a. One (1) CAT pistol holster;
b. One (1) stainless knife;
c. One (1) National ID;
d. One (1) Barangay ID; and
e. One (1) unit Skygo SG125 single motorcycle (no plate) with key

The physical inventory of seized items was conducted on-site using alternative recording devices, in the presence of the suspect and barangay officials, in accordance with established procedures.

Cases for violation of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), are being prepared for inquest proceedings. The suspect is currently under the custody of Maigo MPS for proper documentation and further legal disposition. Confiscated substances have been turned over to the Lanao del Norte Provincial Forensic Unit (LDN PFU) for quantitative and qualitative examination.

TANGCAL MPS ARRESTS ARMED SUSPECT WITH SUSPECTED ILLEGAL DRUGS IN BARANGAY BUBONG, TANGCAL, LANAO DEL NORTE

CAMP GALLEGO, Tubod, Lanao del Norte — At around 4:20 PM on June 20, 2025, the Tangcal Municipal Police Station (TMPS) responded promptly to a request for police assistance from Barangay Officials of Barangay Bubong, Tangcal. The report involved an individual allegedly in possession of a firearm outside a private residence.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement personnel positively identified the suspect — a 25-year-old, single, jobless male and resident of the said barangay — who was seen shirtless with the visible grip of a firearm tucked into his right waistband. Officers verified that the weapon was a caliber .38 revolver with one live round and without serial number. The suspect was immediately placed under arrest.

A body search conducted on the suspect led to the confiscation of the following items: a. Two (2) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing approximately 0.04 grams with a standard drug price of Php 272.00;
b. One (1) caliber .38 revolver loaded with one (1) live ammunition; and
c. One (1) piece of unused, folded aluminum foil.

The operation was executed in an orderly manner in the presence of a Barangay Kagawad of Barangay Bubong and a media representative, ensuring transparency and adherence to proper protocol. The arrested suspect was informed of his Constitutional rights in a dialect he understands.

Appropriate charges are being prepared against the suspect for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). The suspect and the confiscated firearm are now under the custody of Tangcal MPS for documentation and further disposition. The suspected illegal drugs have been turned over to the Lanao del Norte Provincial Forensic Unit (LDN PFU) for quantitative and qualitative examination.

SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF SEARCH WARRANT LEADS TO THE ARREST OF SUSPECTED DRUG PERSONALITY IN MAIGO, LANAO DEL NORTE

Camp Gallego, Tubod, Lanao del Norte – At approximately 7:13 PM on June 20, 2025, a joint operation conducted by personnel of the Maigo Municipal Police Station (MMPS), the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO), and the Pantao Ragat Municipal Police Station (PRMPS) resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug personality.

The operation was carried out through the implementation of Search Warrant No. SW-25-0140, issued by Hon. Ali Ombra R. Bacaraman, Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 4, Hall of Justice, Iligan City, dated May 28, 2025. The warrant was issued for a violation of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), with PDEA Pre-Ops No. 30002-062025-0393.

The suspect, identified as alias “Markchel,” 40 years old, married, and a resident of Purok-6, Barangay Balagatasa, Maigo, Lanao del Norte, was arrested at his residence. Recovered during the search were the following items:
a. Seven (7) rectangular heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with an estimated total weight of 0.290 grams and a Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of Php 1,972.00; and
b. One (1) small black rectangular box.

The search and seizure were conducted in an orderly and lawful manner, documented using an Alternate Recording Device and witnessed by the suspect, a barangay official from Barangay Balagatasa, and a media representative.

Cases for violations of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of RA 9165 are being prepared for inquest filing. The suspect is currently under the custody of the Maigo MPS for proper documentation and further disposition. The confiscated items have been turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) of LDN PPO for quantitative and qualitative examination.
