RHU Tubod Holds Mass Measurement Month Activity to Promote Healthy Lifestyle
TUBOD, Lanao del Norte โ The Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Tubod conducted its Mass Measurement Month activity on May 25, 2026, at the 2nd Floor RHU Building in Tubod, Lanao del Norte, aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle practices and raising awareness on non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
The activity gathered some residents, and health workers for a series of health lectures, assessments, and wellness discussions focused on disease prevention, proper nutrition, and healthy living. Among the highlights of the program were lectures on healthy lifestyle, nutrition advisory, and the importance of regular monitoring of blood pressure and random blood sugar (RBS).
In her welcome message, Ms. Cholie Mae C. Lahoylahoy, RN, emphasized that the annual observance of Mass Measurement Month every May serves as a way to help residents become more aware of non-communicable diseases and the importance of early prevention and healthy habits.
Meanwhile, Nutritionist-Dietitian Ms. Alzenjoan J. Icalina discussed proper nutrition through the โPinggang Pinoyโ concept, encouraging participants to practice moderation, consume more vegetables and fruits, limit sugar intake, and maintain balanced meals. She also stressed the importance of exercise, healthy food choices, and lifestyle discipline to prevent illnesses.
Municipal Mayor Dionisio Y. Cabahug, Jr. also delivered a message of support, encouraging residents to remain physically active, avoid unhealthy vices, and prioritize their health through proper lifestyle practices. Sharing his personal experience, the mayor emphasized the value of regular exercise, productive living, and discipline in maintaining good health.

The mayor also reminded the public to avoid smoking, illegal drugs, and unhealthy habits while continuously working towards improving their lives and well-being.
The activity also included PhilPEN assessment, blood pressure monitoring, random blood sugar testing, and the re-activation of health-related club activities as part of the municipalityโs continuing campaign for a healthier town of Tubod.
