TUBOD, Lanao del Norte โ€” The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte moved to strengthen local data and statistical systems during the joint meeting of the Provincial CBMS Coordinating Board and Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) on August 27, 2026, presided over by ๐†๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐จ๐ซ ๐Œ๐จ๐ก๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐Š๐ก๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐. ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐จ.

The meeting focused on measures to help local government units improve their capacity to generate, manage, and use reliable data for planning and decision-making. Among the key matters was the 2027 CBMS Resource Allocation Tool (CBMS RAT), which will cover the province's 22 municipalities. The board moved to support a resolution seeking the necessary assistance and resources from LGUs for its proper implementation.

The PSC also discussed the compilation of Provincial Product Accounts, timely submission of approved building permit reports to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and preparations for the 37th National Statistics Month this October. Governor Dimaporo approved a resolution encouraging all LGUs to participate in and support the month-long celebration and its activities.

Also discussed were PSA mapping activities and the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System, with LGUs encouraged to comply with the required supporting documents. PIO-LDN

Cyclists from different parts of Mindanao came together for Lanorte MTB Circuit Race Leg 2 on August 30, 2026, with over 150 participants taking on the race at the Lala Municipal Plaza.

The event brought another round of competitive mountain biking to Lanao del Norte, drawing riders into the province and further building its growing sports calendar and potential for cycling and outdoor sports tourism. PIO-LDN

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte โ€” Security, peace and order, and public safety updates were discussed during the 3rd Quarter Joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) Meeting for CY 2026 on August 25, 2026, presided over by Governor Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo.

The meeting was attended by officials from the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office (LDN-PPO), Bureau of Fire Protectionโ€“Lanao del Norte (BFP-LDN), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), DILG-Lanao del Norte, PDEA-Lanao del Norte, and the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.

The LDN-PPO reported on its response to recent shooting incidents, with suspects arrested through containment operations. Updates were also given on efforts to address illegal possession of fi****ms and the apprehension of smuggled ci******es.

Governor Dimaporo raised a resolution urging the Bureau of Customs (BOC) to certify the apprehended smuggled ci******es immediately. He also called for stronger measures to reduce cases of illegal firearm possession and address related security concerns.

The council also discussed the need for additional fire stations in municipalities across Lanao del Norte. Governor Dimaporo urged the BFP to consider alternative arrangements to address LGU requirements for fire stations and raised a resolution seeking support from Malacaรฑang to strengthen the province's protection against fire incidents.

Meanwhile, PDEA-Lanao del Norte and the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor provided updates on the province's continuing efforts against illegal drugs, reinforcing the need for sustained enforcement and inter-agency coordination in addressing the problem.

The meeting reinforced the Provincial Government's continued coordination with security and emergency response agencies in addressing current concerns and strengthening public safety across Lanao del Norte. PIO-LDN

Mayor Rafael Rizalda highlighted the project's potential to boost the local economy, saying, โ€œKini nga project, mao kini ang maghatag ug improvement sa atong economy.โ€ The new facility is expected to support local vendors, improve the market experience, and contribute to economic activity in the municipality.

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte โ€” Lanao del Norte's roads became a route for endurance and exploration as Audax Randonneurs Philippines staged its inaugural Audax Lanao del Norte on August 23, 2026, bringing riders through communities and destinations across the province and beyond.

The event featured 200-kilometer Audax and 120-kilometer Populaire rides, both starting and finishing at the Mindanao Civic Center in Tubod. The 200-kilometer route extended to Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, with riders from the Audax community and local cycling groups, including Tri-SND Barracuda, taking on the long-distance challenge.

Along the Lanao del Norte routes, designated checkpoints included the Masjid in Nunungan, Pavilion Beach in Sultan Naga Dimaporo, and Cathedral Falls in Kapatagan, placing some of the province's cultural and natural attractions along the riders' journey.

By combining long-distance cycling with routes through local destinations, the event gave participants a firsthand experience of Lanao del Norte while bringing activity into communities along the course. PIO-LDN
