A wave of joy and renewed hope filled Barangay Kibolos on Thursday, 22 January 2026, as the BARMM-Marawi Rehabilitation Program (BARMM-MRP) formally turned over its 50-Unit Housing Project with Complete Facilities, marking a transformative beginning for internally displaced families.

This milestone represents the culmination of a project that broke ground on 20 July 2024. Implemented in partnership with the Kapai Local Government Unit (LGU), the initiative provides safe and dignified shelters for internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Marawi City. The newly completed one-story, single-detached units are part of a holistic, resilient community design.

Beyond housing, the site is equipped with essential infrastructure, including:

• 50 units of 2kW solar hybrid systems and 25 solar-powered streetlights
• A Multipurpose Hall and a Covered Court
• A Warehouse and a comprehensive Road Network
• A Level III Water System and extensive Land Development

Adding to the significance of the turnover, the BARMM-MRP featured a Mobile Office and Medical Mission, organized as part of the region-wide celebration of the 7th Founding Anniversary of the Bangsamoro Government, bringing vital government services and healthcare directly to the IDPs residing in Kapai.

The dual-purpose event underscored the Bangsamoro Government’s commitment to Moral Governance, where promises are translated into tangible community rebuilding. For the IDPs, these homes and services represent renewed stability, restored dignity, and a stronger foundation for lasting peace.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished leaders and partners, led by MRP Program Manager MP Said M. Shiek, Deputy Chief Minister Aleem Ali B. Solaiman, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Program Steering Committee (PSC), Sultan Dr. Marjanie M. Macasalong, former PSC member.

Also in attendance were Director III of the Office of the Chief Minister - Technical Management Services (OCM-TMS) Engr. Windel Diangcalan; Provincial Director Engr. Benjamin D. Alangca of the MHSD, and former Kapai Mayor Hamza A. Gauraki, representing incumbent Mayor Aida Gauraki. They were joined by local officials, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and representatives from the 20 barangays of Kapai.

During his turnover speech, former Mayor Gauraki underscored his unwavering support for the Bangsamoro Government. He expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am truly grateful to the MRP team, the MHSD, and everyone who helped make this project a reality. I want to extend special thanks to Program Manager MP Said M. Shiek for trusting the Kapai LGU as a partner in bringing these vital projects and facilities to our community. I have always stood by the Bangsamoro Government, and I will continue to do so because you placed your trust in us.”

In his acceptance address, MP Said M. Shiek emphasized that rebuilding lives is a lifelong mission. He noted that the 50 units symbolize a promise fulfilled to the Marawi IDPs. "Today, we are not merely handing over keys and titles—these homes stand as a promise kept," Shiek stated. "Our responsibility to uplift and sustain our IDP communities continues."

OCM-TMS Director III Engr. Windel Diangcalan highlighted the project's strategic importance. "This milestone is among the most significant highlights to be reported to our Chief Minister. For the 50 new homeowners, this marks the beginning of a more secure and resilient life."

Sultan Dr. Marjanie M. Mimantas offered an inspiring message, urging stakeholders to persist in their mission. "Let us not grow weary in pursuing our objectives. Our goal is to improve the quality of life of the Bangsamoro people and to strengthen our foundation."

The 50-unit housing project stands as a concrete testament to the Bangsamoro Government’s resolve to deliver lasting solutions for IDPs.

By supporting the safe return of families to a stable and dignified life, the project reinforces the rehabilitation of Marawi in alignment with the BARMM government’s 12-Point Priority Agenda.

MPW Minister Oversees Key Bridge Projects in BARMM

On April 28, 2025, Ministry of Public Works (MPW) Minister Architect Eduard Uy Guerra led an inspection of two vital bridge projects in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The inspection focused on the ongoing construction of the Libungan Torreta-Kabuntalan Bridge and the Tumaginting-Ganta Bridge.

Minister Guerra, accompanied by Bangsamoro Director General Danilo A. Ong and regional officials, evaluated the progress of these nearly completed infrastructure projects. Notably, the installation of the final girder for the Libungan Torreta-Kabuntalan Bridge was completed during the minister's visit, marking a significant milestone in the project's advancement. The Tumaginting-Ganta Bridge is also progressing steadily and is expected to be operational soon.

The construction of these bridges, part of the ministry's Regular Infrastructure Project, holds immense significance for the region. Upon completion, the bridges will boost Economic Growth by facilitating the export of agricultural products and enhancing connectivity in the region and significantly will reduce travel time for commuters from Lanao to Gensan.

The successful completion of these projects aligns with the BARMM Government's goal, led by New Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua, to promote inclusive development and improve the quality of life for residents, particularly those in previously isolated and conflict-affected communities. By investing in critical infrastructure, the government aims to foster economic growth, enhance connectivity, and uplift the lives of its citizens.

Alhamdulillah, laking pasasalamat ng mga kababayan nating bangsamoro sa Kapai, Lanao del Sur sa ilalim ng tulong nina Mayor Aidah Capal Gauraki, Vice Mayor Hamza Epie Gauraki at ng LGU ng Kapai upang ipatupad ang 'Distribution of Food Assistance' under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), a priority program of Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim ng BARMM. ✨

A total of 2,960 households, bawat pamilya ay bibigyan ng rice sack at iba't ibang pangunahing food supplies sa kani-kanilang barangay ngayong araw ng February 28, 2025.

Truly, Mayor Aidah and Vice Mayor Hamza support and stand with the Chief Minister in working towards what is best for the Bangsamoro people. Sigay ka Bangsamoro! 💚✨

Nagbigay ng pahayag si Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) Provincial Chairman at ngayo’y Gubernatorial Candidate Fiat Macarambon kaugnay sa naging panawagan ni Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong sa House of Representatives na tutukan ang umano’y maling paggamit ng pondo ng BARMM sa pamamagitan ng Local Government Support Fund (LGSF).

Sa kanyang pahayag, binigyang-diin ng tumatakbong kandidato ang kahalagahan ng umano’y bukas at constructive discussions ukol sa pondo ng gobyerno, ngunit kailangan ding tiyakin na ang mga diskusyon ay malinaw at hindi politically motivated upang hindi aniya magdulot ng kawalan ng tiwala sa gobyerno.

Ipinaliwanag ni Macarambon ang LGSF aniya ay matagal nang national initiative na naglalayong magbigay ng kinakailangang suporta sa mga Local Government Units (LGUs). Dagdag pa niya, sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim, nagpatupad ng mga inklusibong proyekto ang regional government.

Ayon pa kay Macarambon, ang nasabing pondo ay inilabas batay sa kahilingan ng mga LGUs, kasama na umano rito ang mga barangay na sakop ng 1st District ng Lanao del Sur, na kinakatawan ni Congressman Adiong.

Ang pamamahagi ng LGSF ay nakabatay aniya sa mga legal na proseso at may pagsunod sa mga patakarang itinakda ng Commission on Audit (COA) at ng Bangsamoro Budget Circular.

Sa huli, pinayuhan ni Macarambon si Congressman Adiong na ituon na lamang ang kanyang pansin sa mga isyung direktang nakakaapekto sa kanyang mga nasasakupan, tulad na lamang ng pagpapabuti ng kabuhayan, edukasyon, at kapayapaan sa Lanao del Sur.

Kapai awarded as Drug Cleared Municipality and for achieving a High functional rating (85-100%) during the 2024 Peace and Order Council (POC) Audit in 5th Pagkilala para sa mga Natatanging LGUs ng BARMM.
