Thru the leadership and eagernes to respond to the needs of the ICCs/IPs of this province, Ms. Josephine C. Pattaguan, CDO III together with Ms. Raquel P. Santiago, Nurse II, Ms. Lizelle B. Oligario, Midwife II and Ms. Jocelyn F. Maramot, Dentist II of TMSD had reached out the Agta ICCs/IPs situated in Brgy. Bugatay, Peñablanca, Cagayan. Ms. Josephine C. Pattaguan had a brief IEC on IPRA and assessed the current situation of the community. The team has distributed 10kg.of rice to 29 household heads as part of assistance to families severely affected by typhoon Florita. Health teaching was also conducted by the health personnel focusing on Oral health, Covid prevention, vaccination and improvement of over all well-being. Moreover, the beneficiaries were given with over the counter medicine to be used by the community in times of emergency.

Lastly, Ms. Josephine C. Pattaguan had expressed her gratitude for the cooperation of the Agta ICCs/IPs in all the activities of this office and encouraged every parent to support their children in their studies as this is vital in the empowerment of their community.

NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY AND INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE WORLD'S INDIGENOUS PEOPLES

"The role of indigenous women in the preservation and transmission of traditional knowledge was emphasized today in the celebration of International Day of Indigenous Peoples. They play a vital role in the Indigenous Communities by caring for our practices, customs, and tradition. Adding to these is their role as leaders of our household, caregivers of our children and elders, and the chance to carry new generations into our community.

However, we can't deny the apparent discrimination against our indigenous women. The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples acts as their guardians and partners to defend their rights through "RA 8371" or the Indigenous People's Rights Act.

This International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, let us show true solidarity by acknowledging the contribution of our Indigenous women and let us continue working to end the inequality of all Indigenous Peoples.

Let us always recognize their hardship and adopt their shared wisdom.

NCIP Cagayan partakes in the 31st-anniversary celebration of BJMP R2 thru their Blood Letting activity in partnership with Cagayan Valley Medical Center. Ms. Raquel P. Santiago, Nurse II, together with Ms. Lizelle B. Oligario, Midwife II, and Mr. Jansen Carl Arellano, had expressed their values of altruism and kindness thru their life-saving act.
