Last May 18-19, 2026, the 2nd Level Human Resource Merit, Promotion and Selection Board convened to deliberate on the vacant position of Community Affairs Officer I of Cauayan Community Service Center. On Monday, May 18, 2026, Ms. Nika Joy Habawel, Ms. Lenie Quinto, Mr. Zacheus Dupingay, and Mr. Alvin Ubiña took their oath as Tribal Affairs Assistant II of Nagtipunan, Quirino Community Service Center, Tribal Affairs Assistant I, San Mariano, Isabela CSC, Administrative Aide I, Nagtipunan, Quirino CSC, and Administrative Aide I, Cauayan, Isabela CSC, respectively.

The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Regional Director Atty. Onit M. Daquioag and witnessed by the Division Chief of the Administrative and Finance Service Division, the Officer-in-Charge of the Technical Management Services Division, the Head of the Cauayan, Isabela Community Service Center, and the Head and staff of the Cagayan Community Service Center.

NCIP RO2 conducts IPEAS Regional Screening and Selection

The NCIP Regional Office 02 conducted the IPEAS Regional Screening and Selection for School Year 2026–2027 on May 25–26, 2026, as part of its continuing commitment to ensure the effective and transparent implementation of the Indigenous Peoples Education and Advocacy Services (IPEAS). The activity gathered regional and provincial personnel, focal persons, and officials to review and evaluate the results of the provincial screening processes and discuss important updates and policy directions concerning the program.

The two-day activity also served as a venue for collaboration and levelling off among participating offices, highlighting compliance with existing guidelines, addressing audit observations and concerns, and identifying appropriate ways forward to further strengthen the delivery of educational assistance to deserving Indigenous Peoples learners across the region.

NCIP R02 Holds 83rd Kumustahan

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Region 02 conducted its 83rd Kumustahan via Zoom on May 4, 2026, bringing together personnel from the Regional Office and Community Service Centers to strengthen coordination, align offices, and address operational concerns. The activity also served as a venue for updates on the implementation of Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) across the provinces, highlighting accomplishments, challenges, and areas needing attention.

During the activity, Hon. Purisimo L. Tiam, the newly appointed Ethnographic Commissioner for Region 2, shared his guiding vision, H.E.A.L.E.R., which stands for Healing of inequities, missed opportunities, and long-standing neglect. He emphasized the importance of Health, Education, Agriculture, Livelihood, Empowerment, and Renewable Energy in advancing the rights and wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples in Region 2, stressing that H.E.A.L.E.R. is not merely a program, but a commitment to genuine and inclusive development.

The activity concluded with reminders and directives from Regional Director Atty. Onit Daquioag, who reiterated the importance of timely submission of reports, strict compliance with directives, and prompt action on issued memoranda to ensure efficient delivery of services.

From April 28 to 30, 2026, the Human Resource Merit, Promotion, and Selection Board for both the 1st and 2nd levels convened to deliberate on the vacant positions of Midwife II at the San Mariano Community Service Center; Tribal Affairs Assistant I at the same service center; Administrative Aide I at the Cauayan Service Center; and Tribal Affairs Assistant II and Administrative Aide I at the Nagtipunan Community Service Center. The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) supports the nationwide Labor Day Job Fairs on 01 May 2026, in partnership with DOLE and partner agencies.

With 87 sites, 1,200+ employers, and 117,000+ job opportunities, the initiative prioritizes Indigenous Peoples, including IPEAS graduates and other IP jobseekers.
