LOOK | PBGen Mariano C. Rodriguez, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2), graced the Closing Ceremony of the Tourist-Oriented Police for Community Order and Protection (TOPCOP) Seminar today, July 31, 2026, at the Isabela Museum and Library, City of Ilagan, Isabela.

In his closing message, PBGen Rodriguez congratulated the graduates and reminded them that the responsibility of a Tourist Police goes beyond assisting visitors.

“ The bottom line of these tasks is always law enforcement—the prevention and control of crime with the support, collaboration, and coordination of the different sectors of the community, we can fulfill our mission” he emphasized.

He also called on the participants to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired from the seminar to strengthen tourist safety and reinforce Region 2’s reputation as a secure and welcoming destination.

The activity reflects PRO2’s continuing commitment to the mantra, “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,” by developing competent, service-oriented, and community-focused Tourist Police officers dedicated to promoting public safety and supporting the region’s tourism industry.

LOOK | PBGen Mariano C. Rodriguez, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 2, attended the Provincial Oversight Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (AID) and Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) Meeting held at the Legislative Building in Roxas, Isabela on July 30, 2026.

During the meeting, PBGen Rodriguez directed all Chiefs of Police to closely study crime incidents, particularly the eight focus crimes, within their respective areas of responsibility and formulate appropriate interventions. He likewise reminded them to intensify monitoring in their jurisdictions, avoid shortcuts in police procedures, and strictly follow established operational guidelines to prevent errors in decision-making and implementation.

Further, PBGen Rodriguez also emphasized the need to increase police augmentation, particularly in tourist destinations, and urged all personnel to work diligently and professionally in ensuring the safety and security of the public.

The activity was attended by the Provincial Prosecutor Hon. Ma. Cristina P. Dela Rosa, the PCol Manuel B Bringas, Provincial Director, command group and the staff of Isabela PPO, Chiefs of Police, and the Company Commanders of the 1st and 2nd Companies of the Isabela Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Valley Cops, Nakasamsam ng Mahigit Isang Milyong Halaga ng Ilegal na Droga; 125 Arestado sa Isang Linggo

Camp Marcelo A. Adduru, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Mahigit Php1,047,492.00 halaga ng ilegal na droga ang nasamsam ng Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) sa pinaigting na Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) na isinagawa mula Hulyo 23 hanggang 29, 2026 sa buong Lambak ng Cagayan, na nagresulta rin sa pagkakaaresto ng 125 indibidwal dahil sa iba’t ibang paglabag sa batas.

Sa kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga, walong operasyon ang ikinasa na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto ng 13 suspek kung saan nasamsam ang 153.6 gramo ng shabu na may tinatayang halagang Php1,044,480.00 at 25.1 gramo ng ma*****na na nagkakahalaga ng Php3,012.00.

Sa kampanya laban sa mga wanted persons, 100 indibidwal ang nadakip kabilang ang tatlong Most Wanted Persons at 97 iba pang wanted persons. Sa kampanya laban sa ilegal na sugal, apat na indibidwal ang naaresto sa isang operasyon, habang sa pagpapatupad ng Republic Act No. 10591 o Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act, dalawang operasyon ang nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto ng dalawang indibidwal at pagkakakumpiska ng apat na baril. Bukod dito, 13 baril at dalawang pampasabog ang boluntaryong isinuko at narekober sa tulong ng mga mamamayan bilang suporta sa kampanya laban sa loose fi****ms at explosives.

Sa kampanya laban sa illegal logging sa ilalim ng Presidential Decree No. 705, anim na indibidwal ang naaresto sa anim na operasyon kung saan nakumpiska ang 1,501 board feet ng iligal na kahoy na may tinatayang halagang Php127,860.00.

Ayon kay PBGEN Mariano C. Rodriguez, Regional Director ng PRO2, patunay ang mga resulta ng lingguhang operasyon na nananatiling agresibo ang kapulisan sa pagtugis sa mga sangkot sa ilegal na droga at iba pang uri ng kriminalidad. “Hindi namin luluwagan ang aming kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga at iba pang banta sa kapayapaan at kaayusan. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang intelligence-driven operations at pakikipag-ugnayan sa ating mga komunidad upang matiyak na ang bawat lumalabag sa batas ay mapapanagot at ang bawat mamamayan ay makapamuhay sa isang ligtas at mapayapang Lambak ng Cagayan. Ito ay kaakibat ng ating adhikain—Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,” pahayag ni PBGen Rodriguez.
