PASAY CITY – May 31, 2026 – The Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP AVSEGROUP), NAIA Police Station 1, in close coordination with the Bureau of Immigration, successfully arrested a 48-year-old male Filipino for violation of Republic Act No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004).

The arrested individual is an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) and a resident of Iloilo City. He was an inbound passenger arriving from Muscat, Oman.

The arrest was carried out due to the subject’s existing derogatory record under an Alert List Order, along with a recorded warrant of arrest in the system.

Further verification revealed an existing warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Iloilo City, dated September 17, 2025, for violation of Section 5(i) of Republic Act No. 9262 with a recommended bail of Php72,000.00.

The warrant was served in coordination with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), NCR Field Unit–Southern Metro Manila District Field Unit (SMMDFU). The subject was informed of the nature of the offense and apprised of his constitutional rights in a language he understood, while standard operating procedures were strictly observed, including the use of an Alternative Recording Device during the service of the warrant.

The arrested individual is now under the custody of CIDG NCRFU–SMMDFU for proper disposition and further legal proceedings.

The initiative focused on raising awareness about overcharging by taxis and tricycles, providing information on the fare matrix, and sharing complaint hotlines. Passengers noted that the initiative enhanced their overall travel experience by ensuring they are better prepared for transportation options.
