𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐞𝐥, 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤:The Nursing Service Sub Unit NELZN together with CGMED Station NELZN and Coast Guard District Northeastern Luzon have united to assemble and distribute essential relief packs. Their coordinated efforts at the DSWD Warehouse in Ugac, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, ensured the loading of 2,000 DSWD relief supplies, 600 hygiene kits, and 200 boxes of bottled water (6.6 liters x3) to support communities in need."

Such an endeavor aims to prepare for the incoming typhoon "Ofel" and provide aid to communities recently affected by Severe Tropical Storm "Nika" with essential resources, including relief goods, hygiene kits, and water, to meet urgent needs and promote health and safety in impacted areas.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: CAPT NAVALES PCG, Chief Nurse of Nursing Service Sub-Unit North Eastern Luzon (NSSU- NELZN), Visited NSSU, CGMED Station and CGDNELZN personnel at Relief Operations at University of Cagayan Valley.

During the visit, the personnel were involved in loading and distribution of relief goods to communities in need. His presence underscored the importance of operational readiness and highlighted the commitment of the personnel in strengthening community support through timely and efficient aid delivered.

CHECK OUT: Nursing Service Sub-Unit (NSSU) NELZN actively participated in unloading, repacking and distribution of relief good.

NSSU NELZN and CGMED CLINIC NELZN together with Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon personnel provided assistance in unloading, repacking and distribution of relief goods in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development office and the City Government of Tuguegarao.

The unloading and repacking of relief goods held at University of Cagayan Valley main campus College Avenue, Tuguegarao City followed by distribution of relief goods to three affected Barangays of Tuguegarao City: Barangay Libag, Gosi Norte and Namabbalan Sur.

This aims to ensure the immediate delivery of basic needs to those affected by the typhoon Marce and typhoon Nika.

LOOK: CG CAPT JUNEFFER V NAVALES Briefs Coast Guard Personnel on Leptospirosis Amid Typhoon Marce

Today, November 7, CAPT. JUNEFFER V. NAVALES, NC (MSc), visited the CGDNELZN Satellite Office in Carig Sur to brief Coast Guard personnel on the risks of Leptospirosis and assess their well-being as Typhoon Marce hits Cagayan.

With the threat of the typhoon and flooding, all personnel are on heightened alert and on standby for any emergencies that may arise. CAPT NAVALES emphasized the increased risk of Leptospirosis during this time, particularly for first responders. He discussed the disease's prevention methods and the importance of protecting open wounds from floodwater. Personnel were reminded to immediately rinse any contact with floodwater to protect their health.

CAPT NAVALES urges all Coast Guard personnel to remain vigilant and prioritize their health as they respond to emergencies during the typhoon. By staying informed and taking necessary precautions, they can help mitigate the risks associated with flooding and ensure their safety while serving the community.

𝐒𝐞𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰: In coordination with CGSS Sta. Ana, 34 participants from the LGU and Palaui San Vicente Motorbanca Association underwent Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid Training from the Office of the Nursing Service NELZN conducted at Barangay Tangatan, Sta. Ana, Cagayan.

This is in observance with the 123rd Philippine Coast Guard Anniversary to be held on October 21, 2024, dubbed as "PCG@123: Matatag, Handa at Maasahan Tungo sa Mapayapa at Mapanatag na Bagong Pilipinas" with his Excellency President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. as the guest of honor and speaker.

With a focus on life preservation and healing, the activity aims to give the participants the knowledge and skills they would need to respond effectively in situations where their lives were in danger.

This momentous event is part of the 13th Anniversary of CGDNELZN held at Carig Base Satellite Building, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, August 27, 2024.

Such humanitarian service consists of the brave personnel coming from CGDNELZN, CG Operational Control Units, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management, and Penology which contributed to overall success of the activity.

We strive to continuously support and encourage the public to appreciate the importance of blood donation in saving the lives of many Filipinos.
