LOCAL WEATHER SITUATION: Southwest Monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon.

PAGTAYA: Mga paminsan-minsang pag-ulan ang mararanasan sa Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan dulot ng Hanging Habagat. Bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na papawirin na may pulu-pulong mga pag-ulan o pagkidlat-pagkulog ang inaasahan sa Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Abra, Benguet, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao, Aurora sanhi ng Hanging Habagat.

Katamtaman hanggang sa Malakas na hangin mula sa Timog-kanluran ang iiral sa Hilagang Luzon at sa Lalawigan ng Aurora. Ang mga baybaying-dagat ay magiging katamtaman hanggang sa maalon.

FORECAST: Occasional rains will be experienced over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan due to Southwest Monsoon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Abra, Benguet, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao, Aurora caused by Southwest Monsoon.

Moderate to Strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Northern Luzon and Aurora Province. The coastal waters will be Moderate to Rough.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION ESTER EXITED THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
Location of Center (10:00 AM):
The center of Tropical Depression ESTER was estimated based on all available data at 550 km North Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR) (25.4°N, 123.8°E).
Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1002 hPa
Present Movement:
East northeastward at 20 km/h
Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds:
Strong winds extend outwards up to 240 km from the center

Severe Winds
The Southwest Monsoon will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
• Today: Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley
• Tomorrow (07 June): Batanes and Babuyan Islands
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 3.0 m: The seaboards of Batanes; northern seaboard of Babuyan Islands.
• Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels.
Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 2.5 m: The remaining seaboards of Babuyan Islands; the northern seaboard of Ilocos Norte
• Up to 2.0 m: The seaboards of Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan; the western seaboards of Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island.
• Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.
Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
• It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
• Tropical Depression ESTER is forecast to move generally northeastward over the East China Sea while maintaining its strength. ESTER is expected to gradually intensify as it moves toward southern Japan.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.
