Sto. Domingo Multi-Purpose Cooperative becomes the first-ever supplier from Cagayan province to deliver yellow corn to San Miguel Foods, Inc.!
What started as a market linkage activity has evolved into a major agribusiness breakthrough for corn farmers in Baggao, Cagayan, as the Sto. Domingo Multi-Purpose Cooperative successfully delivered a total of 85,591 kilograms of yellow corn worth nearly Php 1.81 million to San Miguel Foods, Incorporated.
The milestone was made possible through the market linkage initiative facilitated by the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. 02 (DA RFO 02) through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) in February 2025. The cooperative is likewise a recipient of the KADIWA Financial Grant Assistance Program, which helped strengthen the cooperativeโs capacity to consolidate and market agricultural produce from its farmer-members.
The cooperativeโs first delivery to San Miguel Foods, Inc. was made in November 2025, with a total volume of 36,669.40 kilograms amounting to Php 658,215.73.
Sustaining the momentum of the partnership, the cooperative carried out additional deliveries on April 23 and 26, and May 5 and 9, 2026, supplying another 48,921.60 kilograms of yellow corn valued at Php 1,147,965.60.
The success of the partnership highlights how strategic market linkage interventions can expand market access, increase farmersโ income, and strengthen agricultural value chains through KADIWA-assisted Farmers and Fisherfolk Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs). Through sustained market facilitation efforts, the DA RFO 02 continues to create inclusive and sustainable agribusiness opportunities for farming communities across the region.
