IGUIG, Cagayan โ The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Cagayan Field Office awarded livelihood starter kits worth โฑ1,540,000.00 to 66 beneficiaries in Iguig, Cagayan today, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening sustainable livelihood opportunities under the leadership of DOLE Secretary Francisco N. Tolentino.
Of the total beneficiaries, 64 are skilled self-employed workers while 2 are to***co farmers and growers, who received livelihood assistance to help establish or expand their income-generating activities.
The livelihood kits distributed include a wide range of enterprises designed to support diverse business opportunities in the community, such as Ice Cream Vending (9), Bread & Pastry Production (4), Native Delicacies Making & Vending (23), Snack Vending (13), Barbershop (5), Street Food Vending (2), Native Delicacy & Street Food Vending (1), Fried Chicken Vending (1), Nail Care Services (2), Souvenir Printing Services (1), Taho Making & Vending (1), Bangus Production & Vending (1), Miki Production & Vending (1), and Vegetable Production & Selling (2).
The awarding ceremony was led by Provincial Director Ms. Laura B. Diciano, together with PESO Manager Ms. Encarnacion Abana and Iguig Mayor Hon. Juditas Trinidad.
Aside from the distribution of livelihood kits, beneficiaries also participated in the Business Work and Improvement Course (BWIC), equipping them with essential entrepreneurial and business management skills to help ensure the sustainability of their livelihood ventures.
