In compliance with Article 134 of the Labor Code of the Philippines (Presidential Decree 442 s. 1974), the Dinapigue Mining Corporation will establish a Family Planning (FP) Clinic to provide free family planning information and services to their employees.

Currently, the DMC has one (1) nurse who has undergone the FP Competency-Based Training Level 1 and is equipped in the provision of FP counseling and short-acting modern contraceptive methods.

Five trained teachers on the Sexually Healthy and Personally Empowered Adolescents (SHAPE-A) Modules successfully integrated various adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) key concepts in select school subjects like Media and Information Literacy, Values Education and Araling Panlipunan.

This supports efforts to equip adolescents with accurate knowledge and essential life skills that promote informed decision-making, healthy behaviors, and responsible choices towards improved AHD outcomes in the Cagayan Valley Region.

The Municipality of Dinapigue, Isabela has become the third municipality in the province to adopt and establish the Registry of Barangay Inhabitants and Migrants (RBIM) across all six barangays.

The Municipal Population Office and the Municipal Planning and Development Office pledged to provide additional mobilization support to the barangay population volunteers and barangay officials to fast-track data collection and encoding.

Data processing and analysis will commence in 2027. The budget amounting to P150,000 for the 2nd phase of the RBIM training was already approved.

To strengthen male involvement in family planning and responsible parenthood, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Amulung, Cagayan successfully conducted the Training of Trainers on the Kalalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa Pamilya (KATROPA), capacitating 17 LGU male employees and 28 advocates from Barangay Caratacat on July 28-29, 2026.

Mayor Elpidio R. Rendon commended the initiative and expressed his heartfelt appreciation to everyone who took part during the training. He also recognized Barangay Caratacat as the first barangay in the municipality to produce KATROPA advocates.

In his message, Mayor Rendon praised the participants' spirit of volunteerism and encouraged them to continue taking an active role as leaders not only within their own families but also in building a stronger and more resilient community.

CPD Region II and USLT Forge Research Partnership to Advance Healthy Ageing in Cagayan Valley Region

TUGUEGARAO CITY, July 29, 2026 –---- As the region prepares for an ageing population, the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region II and the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) have cemented a partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to conduct research that aims to ensure no older person is left behind.

The study titled "The Role of Intergenerational Households in Supporting the Older People in Cagayan Valley" seeks to examine how intergenerational households, where multiple generations of a family live together, provide social, economic, emotional, and health-related support that contributes to the overall well-being, security, and quality of life of older persons in the Cagayan Valley region. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights into how families in the region continue to serve as the primary source of care for ageing members and how public policies can better support these family structures.

PROTECT THE FILIPINO YOUTH!

The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) supports the call of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., on protecting our young Filipinos from "harmful influences and forces that exploit their vulnerability: the corrosive influence of fake news; the unfettered exposure to po*******hy, even to minors; the constant depiction of casual violence; and the toxicity and hate culture pervasive in social media.” CPD lauds his call to address the consequences of such influences including the rise in teenage pregnancies.

We need stronger protection systems and coordinated action. “When a 10-year-old girl becomes a mother, she loses the opportunity to fully grow into her potential,” USEC. Bersales said. “Preventing adolescent pregnancy is about protecting the future of young Filipinas - ensuring that they can become the changemakers our nation needs.”

Soriano, Regional Director ng Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region 2, upang ibahagi ang mahahalagang pananaw hinggil sa mga pangarap, pag-asa, at mithiin ng kabataan, gayundin ang kahalagahan ng pagbibigay-kakayahan sa kanila bilang aktibong katuwang sa pagbuo ng isang mas matatag at progresibong bansa.

CPD Region II recognized the successful completion of the internship program of five Bachelor of Public Administration student interns from Cagayan State University (CSU) Carig Campus during the Internship Exit Conference held on July 27, 2026 at the CPD Region II Conference Hall, Tuguegarao CIty.

The activity highlighted the interns' achievements and the insights they gained through their exposure to the administrative and technical aspects of government service in preparation for becoming competent, compassionate, and service-oriented public officials and employees.

CPD Region II conducts consultation meeting with the Municipality of Cordon, Isabela Officials

Cordon, Isabela, July 24, 2026 - - - The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region II facilitated the consultation meeting with the local officials and representatives from various departments and offices of Cordon, Isabela.

Mayor Florenz M. Zuniega thanked the CPD for visiting the municipality to discuss salient information that is helpful to the locality's overall development. He also urged the participants to listen attentively, actively engage in the discussion, and apply the knowledge gained in crafting responsive policies and programs aimed at improving the quality of life of their constituents.
