EARLIER TODAY || Pangasinan PESO conducts Community Education Program on Safe Migration

Awareness on responsible and legal migration continues to be promoted by the Pangasinan PESO through the Provincial Government’s Community Education Program on Safe Migration, conducted on May 26, 2026, at the 3rd Floor, Event Center, CB Mall, Urdaneta City.

Participants were warmly welcomed by Ms. Ma. Richelle M. Raguindin, Provincial PESO Manager, together with Ms. Chinky Perez-Tababa, Consultant on Social Services, representing Governor Ramon V. Guico III, and Mr. Juanito Soliven, Chief of Staff of 6th District Board Member Ranjit R. Shahani. They emphasized the importance of providing accurate, practical, and timely information to help participants make informed decisions on overseas employment.
Led by Atty. Emmanuel E. Laforteza, Deputy Provincial Prosecutor from the Pangasinan Prosecutor’s Office, and Atty. Angelique Ugay, Attorney III from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Regional Office I, the interactive discussions allowed the 99 participants to raise concerns and clarify matters regarding overseas employment and the challenges faced by migrant workers and their families.

Under the leadership of Governor Ramon V. Guico III, safer opportunities for the people of Pangasinan are prioritized through empowering communities with knowledge, awareness, and access to reliable migration information.

Nakapaghatid ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), katuwang ang iba't ibang ahensiya ng pamahalaan, ng 18,104 services sa 2,890 former overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at 455 recently repatriated OFWs sa ilalim ng "Bayanihan para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa: National Reintegration Network and Job Fair," batay sa datos noong May 12, 2026.

𝗞𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗛𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡 (𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗵𝗼) | Isa sa pangunahing layunin ng programa ang tulungan ang mga OFW na makahanap ng trabaho sa bansa:
• 1,339 job facilitation beneficiaries
• 189 local companies at 69 private recruitment agencies/local manning agencies ang lumahok

𝗞𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗛𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡 (𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱) | Umabot naman sa PHP 4.37 million ang kabuuang financial assistance na naipamahagi ng NRN sa mga benepisyaryong nais magkaroon ng sariling kabuhayan.

𝗞𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗔 (Psychosocial/Welfare) | 313 recently repatriated OFWs ang nakatanggap ng psychosocial at welfare support sa pamamagitan ng Kalinga: Post-Repatriation Orientation Seminars.

𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗚𝗔 𝗦𝗔 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗛𝗢 | Ayon sa datos noong May 7, 2026, ang mga sumusunod ay bilang ng local job referrals na nai-coordinate ng DMW sa partner agencies:
• 843 sa DOLE
• 91 sa DOH
• 54 sa DPWH
• 18 sa DepEd

𝗞𝗔𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗬 𝗦𝗔 𝗞𝗔𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗡 | Batay rin sa datos noong May 7, 2026, mayroong 771 training vouchers at scholarships ang naipamahagi at umabot ng 1,227 domestic workers ang na-profile at na-endorse para sa skills training sa pakikipagtulungan sa TESDA.

Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., patuloy na isinasagawa ng DMW, kasama ang iba't ibang ahensiya bahagi ng NRN, ang komprehensibong pagsuporta sa trabaho, kabuhayan, at kapakanan ng ating mga kababayang OFW na nais manatili at magsimula muli sa Pilipinas. # # #

𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗡: Pormal na nilagdaan ng Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) at Department of Trade and Industry – Small Business Corporation (DTI-SB Corp) ang Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) para sa mas pinalakas na loan facilitation program para sa ating mga Kababayang OFWs, ngayong Mayo 18 sa DTI Filinvest Building sa Makati City.
Layon ng kasunduang ito na mapalawak ang access ng mga OFW sa mga programang pangkabuhayan tulad ng OFW Negosyo Fund, sa pamamagitan ng mas maayos na referral procedures sa Regional Offices, Negosyo Centers, Provincial Help Desks, at Reintegration Centers.
Kabilang din sa mga pangunahing hakbang ang pagpapalakas ng kakayahan ng mga regional offices upang mas maging episyente ang paghahatid ng serbisyo at assistance para sa mga OFW na nais magsimula o palaguin ang kanilang sariling kabuhayan.
Pinangunahan ni OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne "PY" Caunan ang opening remarks, habang nagbigay naman ng mensahe ng suporta sina DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac at DTI Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque para sa naturang partnership.

𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗔𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗶!

Through CSC Resolution No. 2600596 dated 30 April 2026, the Civil Service Commission grants the Overseas Filipino Workers–Preference Rating (OFW-PR) to qualified OFWs based on length of overseas work or foreign employment and work performance.

Starting with the 9 August 2026 Civil Service Examination, qualified OFWs who obtain a general rating of not lower than 70.00 may be granted additional civil service exam points, subject to CSC guidelines.

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆?
• OFW who has been engaged, is engaged or to be engaged in renumerated activity abroad, regardless of country of destination, nature of work, salary level or employment status.
• OFW who has been contracted for overseas employment but has yet to leave the Philippines

𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
• Must have rendered an aggregate of at least five years of overseas employment from 1 January 2000 up to the date of application, whether continuous or intermittent; and
• Must have applied and taken the scheduled CSE beginning 9 August 2026 and thereafter, whether through pen-and-paper or other modes, and obtained a failed general rating of not lower than 70.

This initiative recognizes the professionalism, dedication, and sacrifices of our OFWs and opens another pathway for them to continue serving the nation as Lingkod Bayani.
