OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The Baso Elementary School Alumni Association respectfully informs all alumni, stakeholders, and the general public that the 2nd Grand Alumni Homecoming originally scheduled on March 14, 2026 (1:00 PM) at Baso Elementary School, Pulang Pantad, Brgy. Badas, City of Mati, is hereby POSTPONED until further notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your kind understanding. The new schedule of the event will be announced once finalized.

We also encourage all alumni, batch representatives, and members of the Baso Elementary School community to help disseminate and share this announcement so that everyone will be properly informed.

The students of Baso Elementary School were treated to a day full of joy and surprises thanks to the SELG of Badas National High School and SK Brgy. Badas!

From delicious meals to school supplies, our young learners received not just goodies, but encouragement and support to keep shining in their studies.

After the doublet earthquake that recently jolted Davao Oriental, all classrooms of Baso Elementary School were declared RESTRICTED, rendering them unsafe for use. But even in the face of uncertainty, the spirit of the Baso community remained unshaken.

With the united efforts of the parents, Barangay officials, and dedicated teachers, learning continued against all odds. Makeshift classrooms were quickly set up, and the covered court was transformed into a vibrant space for teaching and learning — proof that education never stops, even in the most challenging times.

Today, Baso Elementary School proudly returns to normal face-to-face classes, a powerful symbol of resilience, cooperation, and hope. Though classrooms remain unrepaired, every makeshift space and every smiling learner reflect the community’s unshaken spirit and shared determination to keep learning alive.

Baso Elementary School proves that even when walls crack, the foundation of learning — unity, faith, and hope — stands unshaken.

Despite the suspension of classes in the City of Mati and other affected areas following the recent earthquake, Baso Elementary School remains steadfast in ensuring the continuity of learning.

Through the implementation of asynchronous learning modalities, learners continue to participate in meaningful learning activities while prioritizing their safety.

This effort exemplifies the commitment of the school to uphold the Department of Education’s goal of providing accessible, relevant, and quality education at all times—showcasing the resilience and dedication of both learners and teachers in the face of challenges.

Earlier today, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck off the coast of Davao Oriental, which was also felt in nearby areas — including MLGR-Memorial School, where our delegates were participating in the Zone Meet 2025.

We are deeply thankful for the safety of everyone — our pupils, coaches, and school staff. Amid the unexpected event, our teachers acted promptly and responsibly, ensuring that all learners were safe, calm, and accounted for.

To our dear parents, thank you for your continued trust, understanding, and prayers. Your confidence in our teachers’ care and leadership means a great deal, especially during times of uncertainty.

Above all, we praise God for His protection and guidance. Today reminds us of the strength of our school community — united, resilient, and caring for one another.
