This is in relation to the posted video circulating on social media regarding the incident that transpired at the Lapastora Resort, Urdaneta City on January 25, 2023. To clarify the said issue and minimize misinformation, the Management has decided to release an official statement regarding the matter. The details of the events prior to the video recording are herein discussed.
On January 25, 2023, Mr. Padilla and Mrs. Gamueda reserved one (1) room for an over-night stay at the Lapastora Resort which includes the use of pool amenities, one (1) gazebo unit, and entrance fees for six (6) persons.
At around 10 A.M., additional guests of around fifty (50) people were received by the Lapastora Resort claiming their reservation was under Mr. Padilla and Mrs. Gamueda.
The Management was not informed of such arrangements and upon inquiry, it was informed by Mr. Padilla and Mrs. Gamueda that the additional guests will just be joining their celebration and will leave the establishment shortly after eating.
In good faith, the Management then agreed to waive the entrance fees of the additional guests considering that the agreement was clearly made between both parties. However, the agreement was not fulfilled because said visitors were still within the premises of the facility nearing the resort’s closing time.
In compliance to the establishment’s guidelines and protocols, the Management decided to call the attention of Mr. Padilla and Mrs. Camueda to notify both that they will be charged with the fees of twenty-three (23) adult who were still at the resort.
At around 5:00 P.M., Mr. Padilla and Mrs. Gamueda decided to cancel the overnight stay at the resort. They refused to pay the incurred fees for their guests and demanded that they pay only a certain amount. To peacefully settle the dispute, the Management decided to call-in the Barangay Officials and Police on-duty for assistance.
During the discussion with the Barangay Kagawad, other guests who were already influenced by alcohol were starting to clamor which then led to the unfortunate event.
The Management would like to inform the public that all issues with Mr. Padilla and Mrs. Gamueda were already settled amicably at the Police Station – Anonas, Urdaneta City.
However, after careful deliberation, the Management decided to take the necessary legal actions with regards to the individuals involved in the circulation of the said video.
Inasmuch that radical measures are unnecessary, the Management does not condone such actions which compromise the name and reputation of the establishment.
