UPDATE | Upon the recommendation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), following its assessment that the majority of barangays in the City of Valencia have been affected by the prevailing adverse weather conditions, classes at all levels in both public and private schools are hereby suspended effective immediately and shall remain suspended until such time that the suspension is lifted.

The suspension likewise covers all school personnel, including teaching and non-teaching staff. This measure is being implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of all learners and school personnel amid the prevailing weather conditions.

Students, parents, school personnel, and the general public are advised to continue monitoring official advisories and announcements from the City Government of Valencia for further updates.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18, 2026, at exactly 9:00 AM.

The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense, is a quarterly exercise that promotes earthquake awareness and preparedness among the public.

The activity aims to strengthen the preparedness of local government units, institutions, and communities in responding to strong earthquakes and possible secondary hazards such as fire, tsunami, and liquefaction.

The City Government of Valencia, led by Mayor Amie Galario, supports this initiative and encourages all government offices, schools, establishments, organizations, and residents to actively participate in the drill.

Remember: DUCK, COVER, and HOLD.

1ST QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED) TO BE HELD ON MARCH 12, 2026

The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill or NSED is a quarterly exercise spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense to promote earthquake awareness and preparedness of the general public.

The National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for the first quarter of 2026 will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at exactly 3:30 PM.

It also aims to strengthen the preparedness of Local Government Units in the event of a strong ground shaking and its secondary hazards like fire, tsunami, and liquefaction.

All are encouraged to join and participate in the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED).
