Salamat, Paalam PGB Retirees
Ladies and gentlemen, our beloved retirees, maayong buntag sa inyong tanan!
Today is a special day.
A day of celebration. A day of gratitude. And for many of us, a day filled with mixed emotions. Because today, we are not simply saying goodbye to employees who are retiring.We are honoring men and women who have given some of the best years of their lives in service to the people of Bukidnon.
To our dear retirees, when you first entered government service, many of you were still young, full of dreams, ambitions, and hopes for the future.
Some of you were just beginning to build your families. Others were starting a career, not knowing where the years would take you.
And now, after decades of service, here you are.
Older, wiser, and hopefully, with enough savings to enjoy your retirement!
Siguro ang uban sa inyo, duha, tulo, o upat na ka gobernador ang inyong naabtan. Ang uban, basin mas dugay pa sa Provincial Capitol kaysa sa inyong kaugalingong balay!
And through all those years, you witnessed how Bukidnon changed.
You saw roads being built, communities growing, government programs expanding, and new generations of public servants coming in.
But you were not merely witnesses to the progress of Bukidnon. You were part of the people who made that progress possible.
Every document you processed, every project you helped implement, every person you assisted, and every responsibility you fulfilled contributed to the development of our province.Some of your work was recognized publicly. Much of it was done quietly, without applause, without recognition, and sometimes, without even a simple thank you.
But let me tell you something today.
Your work mattered. Your sacrifices mattered. And your years of service will never be forgotten.Kabalo ko nga dili sayon ang pagserbisyo sa gobyerno.
There were difficult days. There were pressures, deadlines, and challenges. There were times when you had to sacrifice precious moments with your families because duty called.
And of course, there were endless meetings, reports, and documents requiring signatures!
Karon, dili na mo makadungog og, “Ma’am, Sir, urgent kaayo ni! Pirmahi lang dayon!”
Ug ang inyong alarm clock, pwede na ninyo pahulayon. Kay basin sa kadugay ninyo sa serbisyo, mas gikapoy pa ang inyong alarm clock kaysa kaninyo!
But behind all that laughter is a deeper truth.
For many years, you gave your time not only to government, but to the people we are sworn to serve.And time, my dear friends, is something we can never recover.
Money can be earned again. Positions can be filled. Offices can be occupied by someone else.But the years of your life that you dedicated to public service can never be replaced.
That is why today, we honor not only your accomplishments, but also the sacrifices behind them.We honor the families who patiently waited for you to come home.
The husbands and wives who understood your responsibilities.The children who sometimes had to wait because Mama or Papa still had work to finish.
To your families, we also say thank you. Because behind every dedicated public servant is often a family that has quietly shared in the sacrifice.
My dear retirees,
Retirement is sometimes called the end of a career.
But I want you to look at it differently.
Retirement is not the end of your purpose. It is the beginning of a new freedom.
For so many years, you lived according to schedules, deadlines, office hours, and responsibilities.
Now, it is time to live according to your own dreams.
Spend more time with your family. Travel. Enjoy your grandchildren. Rediscover the things you love. Do the things you always wanted to do but never had enough time for.
Karon, kamo na ang boss sa inyong kaugalingong oras!
Wala na’y daily time record. Wala na’y leave application. Wala na’y memorandum. Ug labaw sa tanan, wala na’y tawag nga, “Sir, Ma’am, asa na man tong report?”
And perhaps, that will be your most challenging assignment yet!
But seriously, I hope you will enjoy this new chapter of your lives.
Because you deserve it.
You have spent so many years taking care of the responsibilities of government.
Now, it is time to take care of yourselves and the people you love.
And before I end, allow me to leave you with this thought.
One day, all of us will leave our positions.
Governors will come and go. Department heads will retire. Employees will move on.
The offices we occupy today will eventually belong to someone else.
But what will remain is the difference we made in the lives of others.
Because the true measure of public service is not how long we occupied a position, but how many lives became better because we were there.
And that, my dear retirees, is the legacy you leave behind.
You may be leaving your offices, but you are not leaving the history of Bukidnon.
Your contributions have become part of the foundation upon which we continue to build our province.
And for that, you will always have a place in the story of One Bukidnon.
So today, I do not want to say goodbye with sadness.
I want to say goodbye with pride.
Pride in what you have accomplished.
Gratitude for what you have sacrificed.
And hope for the beautiful years that still lie ahead of you.
Sa inyong tanan, gikan sa kinasingkasing, daghang, daghang salamat.
Salamat sa inyong kakugi.
Salamat sa inyong pagpailub.
Salamat sa inyong mga sakripisyo.
Ug labaw sa tanan, salamat sa inyong matinud-anong pagserbisyo sa katawhan sa Bukidnon. As you leave government service, I hope you carry with you not only your retirement benefits, but something far more valuable:
The peace of knowing that your years were not wasted, your sacrifices were not in vain, and your life made a difference.
You came into government as employees.
You leave today as part of Bukidnon’s legacy.
Salamat sa inyong serbisyo. Congratulations on your retirement. And may the best years of your lives still be ahead of you!
