Valenzuelanos for Good Governance
Valenzuelanos for Good Governance strongly condemns the malicious spread of fake news and disinformation by fugitive Harry Roque and the online machinery that continues to amplify lies to mislead the Filipino people.
A simple family photo of Valenzuelano Senator Win Gatchalian attending mass was deliberately twisted to make it appear that he was with First Lady Liza Marcos, when in reality, the woman beside him was his own mother. This was not an honest mistake. It was a calculated attempt to deceive the public and manufacture outrage for political gain.
Nakakahiya at nakakabahala na isang pugante ang patuloy na ginagamit ang social media para magpakalat ng kasinungalingan habang ang kanyang mga tagasuporta naman ay walang tigil sa pagpapalaganap nito.
The Filipino people deserve better than propaganda, fake narratives, and coordinated attacks meant to distract the public from the real issues confronting the country.
We likewise condemn the motion raised by Senator Rodante Marcoleta seeking to allow senators to attend Senate sessions through teleconferencing despite the absence of any pandemic, national emergency, or extraordinary circumstance that would justify such a proposal.
Walang lockdown. Walang state of calamity. Walang national emergency. Ang kailangan ngayon ay presensya, pananagutan, at tapang humarap sa taumbayan.
The Senate is a constitutional institution, not a Zoom meeting that public officials can conveniently attend when it benefits them politically. The people have every right to question why there are efforts to relax accountability at a time when crucial national issues demand full transparency and direct participation from elected leaders.
Malinaw na sa taumbayan kung sino ang gustong umiwas, kung sino ang gustong magtago, at kung sino ang pilit na pinoprotektahan.
We therefore express our full support for the Senate minority bloc in its decision to walk out in protest against maneuvers that undermine democratic processes, institutional integrity, and public accountability.
Hindi dapat manahimik ang taumbayan habang unti-unting binabastos ang mga institusyon ng demokrasya para lamang sa pansariling interes at pampulitikang proteksyon.
The public is watching closely.
At sa huli, hindi trolls, propaganda, o fake news ang mananaig, kundi katotohanan at pananagutan.
