FIRE & RESCUE OPERATION | October 09, 2026 | 0727H (No one left behind)

Under the leadership of FCSUPT ROY RODERICK P. AGUTO, DSC, Regional Director of BFP-NCR; the supervision of FSSUPT MARVIN T. CARBONEL, DSC, District II Fire Marshal; and the direction of FSUPT MA. THERESA A. ALQUEZA, City Fire Marshal, Canumay Fire Sub-Station (248T) duty personnel, headed by Chief Fire Engine Company FINSP HANEL JOY P. FERNANDEZ, responded to a residential (apartment) fire incident at Donesa Street, Brgy. Canumay West, Valenzuela City.

Through the prompt response and rescue efforts of the duty personnel, one (1) girl, approximately 10 years old, and three (3) dogs—Coco, Sky, and Cockie—were safely rescued.

The installed Fire Detection and Alarm System (FDAS) was operational and successfully alerted the occupants. Fire extinguishers were also utilized by the occupants to extinguish the fire prior to the arrival of the responding personnel.

The incident highlights the importance of functional fire safety systems, available fire extinguishers, and immediate response in protecting lives and property. 🚒👩‍🚒🐕❤️

During the first month of the newly appointed Chief, Fire Engine Company of Canumay Fire Sub-Station, FINSP HANEL JOY P. FERNANDEZ conducted courtesy calls with the barangay captains and officers of Canumay West, Canumay East, and Lingunan.

The activity aimed to establish good working relationships with the barangay officials and discuss proposed activities and initiatives for the betterment and safety of the community.

Canumay Fire Sub‑Station Commander, FINSP HANEL JOY P FERNANDEZ, served as the Inspirational Speaker during the Fire Prevention Seminar organized by Ka‑Volunteer Konek. With her leadership and experience, she shared valuable insights on fire safety awareness, emergency preparedness, and responsible actions during fire‑related incidents, inspiring participants to take proactive steps in protecting lives and property.

The activity aimed to educate and empower the community by strengthening knowledge on fire prevention and readiness. Through the collaboration of the Bureau of Fire Protection and Ka‑Volunteer Konek, the seminar highlighted the importance of vigilance, preparedness, and collective responsibility in ensuring safety within schools and neighborhoods.

Volunteerism during flooding shows how courage and empathy can light the way in difficult times. Fire and rescue volunteers, together with civilian volunteers, have stood firm to protect and assist the community. Their service is not about recognition but about being present when people need them most.

We give special thanks to the Barangay Canumay West Fire and Rescue Brigade, Canumay East Fire and Rescue Brigade, and Lingunan Fire and Rescue Brigade. Your dedication and bravery are deeply valued.
