In celebration of Philippine Environmental Month, the LGU Villanueva successfully conducted the Tree Growing and Coastal Clean-Up activities last June 21, 2025 (Saturday) at Brgy. Tambobong and Brgy. Looc.

This meaningful event was made possible through the joint efforts of The Grand Villanueva Eagles Club, The Grand Villanueva Lady Eagles Group, HRH of RHU Villanueva, the Mun. Agriculture Office, and the MENRO— with special thanks to Mayor Jennie Rosalie Uy-Mendez for her unwavering support and commitment to environmental protection.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) - Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Region X, in compliance with the EMB Memorandum dated May 9, 2025, signed by OIC Assistant Secretary for Environment and Concurrent EMB Director Jacqueline A. Caancan, CESO III, hereby directs all Local Government Units (LGUs) to conduct post-election clean-up activities and inventory of recovered and disposed election campaign materials on or before May 16, 2025.

The LGU of Villanueva, headed by Municipal Mayor Jennie Rosalie Mendez, participated in the post-election clean-up activity today. The activity was conducted along the Villanueva highway and in selected areas of Barangays Dayawan, Katipunan, Poblacion 2, and Poblacion 1.

Collected election campaign materials, such as tarpaulins and frames, were deposited at the recovery facility of the Sanitary Landfill for future use.

The activity was successfully carried out by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) in coordination with the offices of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Municipal Engineering Office (MEO), General Services Office (GSO), and Traffic Management Corps. (TMC).

We encourage all barangays and households to follow and take part in this important environmental initiative. Post-election clean-up activities not only help maintain public order and cleanliness but also contribute to environmental protection and resource recovery. Let us work together to promote a clean, safe, and sustainable community for all.

Ubay-ubay ka mga emplyeyado sa LGU, Ka barangayan, ug uban sector ang ni partisipar para sa tumong nga luwason ang kina-iyahan.

Daghan kaayong salamat sa MENRO Villanueva sa kanunay nga pag dasig sa katawhan nga mo salmot sa maong kalihokan.

What is IEC?

The primary objective of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) is to empower individuals by providing them with knowledge, fostering understanding, and igniting motivation to recognize their roles and responsibilities, as well as the advantages of adopting effective waste management practices.

Last November 20, 2024, held at the Bongloy Hall, the Office of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources conducted an INFORMATION EDUCATION & COMMUNICATION (IEC)
campaign about RA 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act for Villanueva Food Park, Eco Fire Bricks Boulevard Vendors.

The said activity was also organized by the Municipal Economic Enterprise Development Office(MEEDO).

The Local Government Unit of Villanueva through MENRO LGU Villanueva conducted an orientation for the upcoming International Coastal Clean-up Day this September 21, 2024, Saturday.

Orientation on how to fill-out the Ocean Trash Data form provided by the DENR-EMB and Waste Segregation was also discussed during the orientation.

We thank all our participants/volunteers who joins the ICC orientation yesterday. Thank you and may God bless you all with a thousand folds. 🙏💚
