The Provincial Nutrition Office spearheaded the annual conduct of Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Congress for the province of Catanduanes with the theme,

"BNS: B.I.D.A"
B-antayan ang Nutrisyon
I-wasan ang Malnutrition
D-ireksyong pankalusugan ay Tutukan ng
A-tensyon!

The congress aimed to mobilize the BNSs to implement the programs and projects of Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2017-2022 at the barangay level, enhance BNSs personality/skills, strengthen the provincial BNS federations and provide health and nutrition information relevant to this current pandemic situation. It's also an opportunity to thank them for their tireless efforts in putting nutrition programs into action.

Family MUAC screening approach orientation was conducted by the PNO headed by PNAO Ms. Marites M. Curativo in Barangay Obo, San Miguel. EARLIER TODAY: Family MUAC screening approach orientation was conducted by the PNO headed by PNAO Ms. Marites M. Curativo in Barangay Palawig, San Andres. The Provincial Local Government of Catanduanes passed a local First 1000 Days ordinance sponsored by PBM Doc Zafe, SP Committee Chairman on Health. This initiative is in partnership with ADVANCE (Advocacy for Nutrition Governance towards Early Recovery) Bicol project of the Save the Children Philippines. The project's goal is to improve nutrition governance and leadership, as well as to assist model LGUs in showcasing multi-sectoral FIKD initiatives and piloting local policies for replication and scaling across the province.
