The Office of Civil Defense Region V (OCD V), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Catanduanes through the PDRRMO and with the generous support of the World Food Programme (WFP), successfully conducted the 5-Day Incident Command System (ICS) Level III Position Course from May 25โ29, 2026, at Queen Maricel Inn, San Isidro Village, Virac, Catanduanes.
The training brought together disaster risk reduction and emergency response practitioners from various agencies and local government units, strengthening their knowledge, skills, and readiness to effectively manage emergencies and disasters.
The course was facilitated by Mr. Aivin Naing of MDRRMO Daet, together with team of local instructors: Ms. Donnabel Tejada (MDRRMO Bato), Mr. Niel Francis Tuibeo (MDRRMO Viga), Ms. Josephine Benavidez (MDRRMO Virac), Mr. Kenny Edward Teston (MDRRMO Baras), Ms. Maribel Tomagan (PDAO), Mr. Reymund Reginaldo (Philippine Red Cross), Ms. Jenelyn Chavez (Philippine Red Cross), and Mr. Jordan Sorreda (Philippine Red Cross).
Beyond learning the principles and structure of the Incident Command System, participants shared experiences, strengthened partnerships, and fostered a spirit of collaboration essential for effective disaster response.
