📸 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: 𝟮𝟯 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺

The Catanduanes Medicine and Law Scholarship and Return Service Program (CMLSRSP) welcomed its biggest batch of scholars to date, awarding full scholarships to 23 aspiring professionals during the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing and Presentation of Participants held today, June 27, at the Provincial Capitol Lobby.

Among the new grantees are 15 Doctor of Medicine scholars and 8 Juris Doctor scholars. Some attended the ceremony in person, while others joined virtually, along with their parents, CMLSRSP Board Members, the Technical Working Committee, and CMLSRSP Chairman, Governor Joseph C. Cua.

In his message, Governor Cua emphasized the power of education to change lives and make dreams a reality—highlighting the inspiring stories of a tricycle driver’s daughter and a government worker’s daughter, now both preparing to take the Bar exams with the help of the program.

Addressing the scholars, he reminded: “You have been given a privilege that no other Catandunganon has. Do not waste this opportunity. Pag kamo nasasakitan sa pagmemorize, pag basa, asin sa saindong mga exams, remember that ‘To struggle in your studies is also a privilege.’ Dai pagsayangun.” He further encouraged them to give back: “Pag kamo abogado na asin doctor, hinguhahon na magtabang man sa mga kapwa niato Catandunganon.”

“Darhon an batas asin an programa sa salud, sa mga komunidad na kaipuhan talaga nin tabang,” he added, urging the scholars to stay grounded in service.

As Catanduanes continues to invest in its future lawyers and doctors, the provincial government reaffirms its commitment to inclusive, life-changing education that empowers individuals and uplifts communities for generations to come.

SIGNED AND SEALED: Catandunganon Youth Set to Launch Projects Under GISP 2025

The Provincial Government of Catanduanes, through the Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO), officially sealed its support to this year’s grantees under the Grant-Based Incentive Support Program (GISP) 2025 during the ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing held on June 26, 2025, at the Governor’s Office Conference Room.

As Chairperson of the GISP Committee, Governor Joseph C. Cua led the ceremonial signing, underscoring the administration’s belief in investing in the leadership, creativity, and community spirit of Catandunganon youth.

The MOA formalized the provision of financial and technical support to the following Sangguniang Kabataan and youth organizations, and their respective initiatives:

1. Young Agriculture Practitioners Enthusiast (YAPE)’s Sustainable Swine Dispersal Project: A youth-run livelihood program that establishes a piglet pass-on system to promote swine production, food security, and youth skills in animal husbandry and agribusiness;

2. SK Quezon’s Padyak Para sa Pangarap: A Bicycle Project for Studenst: Aims to ease the daily travel burden of high school and college students by providing shared-use bicycles stationed at the barangay plaza, encouraging punctuality and continued education;

3.SK Pagsangahan’s Edu-Aksyon Para Kay Juan At Juana: Transforms the local SK office into a learning hub with free printing services for students and ALS learners in need of a conducive and resource-equipped study space;

4.Junior Disaster Risk Reduction Advocates and Practitioners’ (JDRRAP) Kabataan Handa: Youth DRRM Training and Emergency Supply Distribution Project: Trains youth in disaster risk reduction and emergency preparedness while distributing essential supplies to improve community resilience and readiness;

5. CNHS Youth for Environment in Schools Organization’s (YES-O) ASIKASO YES-O: Launches anti-dengue sanitation drives and eco-friendly mosquito trap installations in vulnerable barangays and school zones to combat mosquito-borne diseases.

Ahead of the MOA Signing, a Simple Bookkeeping and Financial Literacy Seminar was conducted to equip the grantees with basic fiscal management knowledge—ensuring transparency and accountability in their respective initiatives.

Through GISP 2025, the Provincial Government continues to empower the youth not just as beneficiaries, but as partners in governance and change.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: Bumisita ngayong araw, Hunyo 24, ang Health Promotion Bureau Team ng Department of Health – Central Office sa tanggapan ni Gov. Joseph C. Cua bilang bahagi ng kanilang misyon sa lalawigan.

Layunin ng kanilang pagbisita ang pagsasagawa ng monitoring sa mga health promotion activities at mga program, at kanilang bibisitahin ang mga munisipyo ng Caramoran, at Pandan sa mga susunod na araw.

Ipinahayag ng kinatawan ng nasabing team na ang Catanduanes ay maituturing na modelo pagdating sa mga aktibidad at programang pangkalusugan na isinasagawa sa lalawigan. Kinikilala rin nila ang dedikasyon at patuloy na pagsisikap ng mga healthcare workers ng probinsya.

Binigyang parangal at simbolikong regalo ng Department of Health ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Catanduanes bilang pagkilala sa hindi matatawarang suporta nito sa isinagawang HP Bisita.

On June 17-19, 2025, the Philippine Coconut Authority Region V had coordination meetings in the Province of Catanduanes to strengthen networks among key stakeholders with the ongoing implementation of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) Health and Medical Program through the Philippine Coconut Authority.

It was conducted together with the PCA Albay-Catanduanes Provincial Office through Engr. Sofia Juserhine I. Bucad, Acting Division Chief I, along with Engr. Karen L. Rodulfo, Acting Senior Agriculturist and Ms. Cristina Tarroquin, Contractual Coconut Development Officer.

The coordination meetings proceeded with a courtesy visit to the Office of the Governor through Mr. Ace William R. Tria, Provincial Agriculturist on behalf of Hon. Joseph C. Cua, Governor, Provincial Local Government of Catanduanes.

In addition, a partnership meeting was held with PhilHealth LHIO Catanduanes, led by Social Health Insurance Officer Ms. Leony E. Austero. Further courtesy visit was also conducted at the Office of the Mayor through Mr. Allen L. Isorena, Municipal Agriculturist and Mr. Raul Diaz Borbor, Executive Secretary on behalf of Hon. Raul E. Tabirara, Mayor, Local Government Office of Pandan followed by a courtesy visit with Mr. Edgard Taroy, Barangay Captain of Brgy. Purot, Pandan, Catanduanes.

These productive meetings and partnerships aim to enhance collaboration and ensure the successful implementation of the CFIDP Health and Medical Program, benefiting coconut farmers and their families. The ongoing support and cooperation from local government officials, PhilHealth, and key stakeholders are vital to achieving the program's goals and fostering sustainable development of the coconut industry in the Bicol region.
