PHO OFFICIAL STATEMENT
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) would like to clarify the process for the provision of maintenance medications for clients with hypertension and diabetes under the Province of Catanduanes’ health program.
With an allocation of ₱30 million from the Office of Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza, the program aims to provide maintenance medicines to qualified beneficiaries provincewide.
For the initial batch, the respective MHOs/RHUs submitted the list of hypertensive and diabetic clients from their existing registries, together with the corresponding prescriptions issued by the Municipal Health Officers. The submitted lists are then verified by the MHO and forwarded to the respective Local Chief Executives (LCEs) for appropriate action and processing.
Clients who were not included in the first batch are not excluded from the program. They are advised to visit their respective RHUs for consultation and assessment. Qualified clients will be registered in the PhilPEN/NCD Registry and may be included in the succeeding batch, subject to the program guidelines and availability of medicines.
The distribution of medicines is conducted under the supervision of the PHO Pharmacist, who ensures proper verification and dispensing in accordance with established protocols, including checking the prescription, identity of the beneficiary, and proper documentation.
The PHO emphasizes that this is one of the health programs of the Provincial Government being implemented through the Provincial Health Office. The PHO is carrying out and facilitating the implementation of the program in coordination with the MHOs, RHUs, Local Chief Executives, and other concerned offices.
For clients who have not yet been included, please coordinate with your respective RHU for consultation, assessment, and registration.
