Giyera Kontra Dengue continues!

Kap Aimie Cabato and Kagawad Hji Jeng Ismael attended the Flag Ceremony at City Hall this morning together with fellow Barangay Officials.

City In-Charge Vice Mayor Beng Climaco led the Flag Raising Ceremony. During the ceremony, Secretary to the Mayor Celso Lobregat and City Health Officer Dra. Dulce Miravite provided an update on the current dengue situation in Zamboanga City and presented the latest dengue data as of August 8, 2026. Raw salt was also distributed as one of the alternative measures being promoted to help eliminate mosquito breeding sites.

We are proud to share that Barangay Baliwasan is no longer among the Top 20 barangays with the highest number of dengue cases, based on City Health Office data.

This is a result of our continuous and collective efforts to eliminate dengue breeding sites and strengthen information and dissemination activities in our community.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Baliwasan Health Personnel, Barangay Officials, Employees, Purok Leaders, Volunteers, and our constituents who continue to take part in this fight.

Kap Aimie Cabato, together with the Barangay Council, turned over two (2) air-conditioning units to ZCPS 13 as part of the barangay’s continuing support to our police personnel.

Kap Aimie Cabato joined fellow Barangay officials from neighboring communities during the Educational Caravan for student applicants to the CHED Tulong Dunong Scholarship Program, initiated through the office of Cong. Kat Chua.

This morning’s caravan served students from the following Barangays:

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗲, 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻

Our efforts to address the drainage problem at Tambis Lane, Barangay Baliwasan continue as we work towards a long-term solution.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mayor Khymer Olaso for his continued support in helping us resolve this long-standing concern. We also thank City Administrator Percival Ramos for facilitating the negotiations to remove the drainage obstruction in the area.

Our appreciation also goes to Sir Raynee Taray of the City Administrator’s Office, Engr. Rolan Badiang, and the City Engineer’s Maintenance Division Team for their technical assistance and commitment.

To our dedicated Purok leaders and coordinators, especially Jacky and Evelyn, thank you for your invaluable support and assistance throughout this undertaking.

To our residents affected by the drainage issue, we ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to exhaust every possible option to completely solve the problem.

Rest assured that Kap. Aimie Cabato and the Barangay Council are treating this matter with utmost seriousness and a strong sense of urgency. We remain committed to finding a lasting solution for the safety, convenience, and well-being of our community.

Together, we will build a safer, cleaner, and more resilient Barangay Baliwasan.

SECOND WAVE OF DENGUE SEARCH AND DESTROY ACTIVITY

The second wave of our Dengue Search and Destroy Activity was successfully conducted with the active participation of the Baliwasan Health Personnel, Barangay Officials, Barangay Employees, and students.

Combating dengue requires a whole-of-community approach. Every household and every resident has an important role to play by eliminating mosquito breeding sites, maintaining clean surroundings, and practicing preventive measures.

We encourage everyone to join this campaign. Together, through unity and collective action, we can stop the dengue outbreak and protect our community.
