HAPPENING NOW | RCMBIX heads to Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte for the “Shared Freedom Amidst Diversity: A Sectoral Dialogue on Freedom of Association,” today, August 18, 2026, bringing together representatives from the employer and worker sectors for meaningful discussions on freedom of association, workers’ rights, and the promotion of harmonious labor-management relations.

HOLIDAY ADVISORY| WEDNESDAY, August 26, 2026 is declared a Muslim Legal Holiday in observance of Mauluddin Nabi or birthday of Prophet Mohammad S.A.W., pursuant to Presidential Decree 1083 otherwise known as Code of Muslim Personal Laws of the Philippines.
In a memorandum issued by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos-Region 9, Regional Director Rhoaisa Matolo-Mukaram, JD said the holiday will be observed in the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sulu, Tawi-tawi, Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur, and in the cities of Cotabato, Iligan, Marawi, Pagadian, and ZAMBOANGA CITY, "and in such other Muslim Provinces and Cities as may hereafter be created."
The August 26 (Wednesday) Muslim Holiday is in addition to the holidays set on Friday, August 21 (Ninoy Aquino Day) and on Monday, August 31 (National Heroes' Day), based on Proclamation No. 1006 issued in 2025 by President Bongbong Marcos.

PHOTOS | RCMB IX held a farewell activity for outgoing Regional Branch Director Gerie Lampitco on 14 August 2026 in Zamboanga City.

Dir. Gerie assumed office as Regional Branch Director of RCMB IX in January 2026 and will be reassigned to NCMB XII effective 24 August 2026, pursuant to Administrative Order No. 265 issued by Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Francis N. Tolentino.

In his six-month stint in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Dir. Gerie became a valued part of RCMB IX and its partners. His leadership and support contributed to the continued delivery of the Board’s programs and services in the region.

The farewell activity was joined by RCMB IX personnel, GIP Interns, and partner agencies and organizations, who came together to express their appreciation and wish Dir. Gerie success in his new assignment.

HAPPENING NOW | SHARED FREEDOM AMIDST DIVERSITY

RCMB IX brings together representatives from the employer and worker sectors for “Shared Freedom Amidst Diversity: A Sectoral Dialogue on Freedom of Association,” today, 11 August 2026 at Chandler Suites, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The dialogue provides a venue for open discussion and exchange of perspectives on freedom of association, promoting mutual understanding, respect for labor rights, and stronger labor-management relations.

COMPANY VISIT | 05 August 2026 – Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI), located in Brgy. Culianan, Zamboanga City, welcomed the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch IX (RCMB IX) for a meeting aimed at strengthening labor-management relations and fostering continued workplace cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Senior Manager for Manufacturing Operations Rodrigo Elpedes Jr., Senior Manager for HR Operations Judith Bucoy, and Associate Manager for Environment, Health, Safety, and Security Magieliendo Navarette. Also present were representatives of the Zamboanga Pepsi-Cola Employees and Workers' Union – Union de Obreros Estivadores de Filipinas (ZPEWU-UOEF) No. 70, led by Union President Jerry Apas and Board Member Raul Samson.

Discussions centered on the successful conclusion of the parties' recently negotiated and signed Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which reflects the shared commitment of management and the union to constructive social dialogue, mutual respect, and industrial peace. Both management and union representatives likewise exchanged updates on their respective plans and initiatives aimed at sustaining harmonious labor-management relations and strengthening employee engagement within the company.

The meeting also explored opportunities for future collaboration with RCMB IX, including the conduct of learning sessions on Labor-Management Cooperation (LMC), Grievance Machinery (GM), and other capacity-building programs designed to further enhance communication, promote the amicable resolution of workplace concerns, and reinforce a culture of cooperation in the workplace.

COMPANY VISIT | 05 August 2026 – The Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch IX (RCMB IX) conducted a company visit to KCC Mall de Zamboanga as part of its continuing engagement with its Labor-Management Cooperation (LMC) practitioners to strengthen partnerships and promote sound labor-management relations.

The Branch was warmly received by Ms. Elnie Rose Santosildes during a brief meeting, where both parties discussed matters of mutual interest and opportunities for future collaboration in advancing workplace harmony through preventive mediation and labor-management cooperation initiatives.
