The role of women in nation-building is critical and very important as of men. As an institution, the 54th Engineer “Sarangay” Brigade, Philippine Army recognizes the distinct contribution of female engineer soldiers and pursue to enhance policies, activities and programs that will help promote women empowerment in nation-building.
To realize this, COL RANDY F FAJILAGUTAN CE (MNSA) PA right after his assumption as the 14th Commander of the 54EBde, PA on 19 December 2021, has directed all its subordinate unit commanders to organize all female engineer soldier construction teams and Disaster Response and Rescue Operations (DRRO) teams and subject them to undergo to engineer related trainings and practical exercises and would further enhance and capacitate their core competencies/skills as engineer soldier.
Truly, the female soldier’s role are critical for the accomplishment of the unit mission in the Joint Area of Operations (JAO) in Western Mindanao while fulfilling the Army Engineer’s Core Purpose of “Helping the People, Building Communities”.
