Personnel of the Zamboanga City Central Fire Station deployed a fire truck and firefighting personnel to Southern City Colleges – Brent Hospital and College in support of the Emergency Hotline Number Dissemination Campaign of the Zamboanga City Fire District.
As part of the information campaign, QR code posters containing emergency hotline numbers were strategically posted throughout the school premises to improve accessibility to emergency services. Students, faculty members, and school personnel were encouraged to scan the QR codes for quick and convenient access to essential emergency contact numbers.
In addition, emergency hotline bookmarks were distributed to further promote public awareness, preparedness, and the importance of having immediate access to emergency services.

IN PHOTOS || Personnel of the Zamboanga City Central Fire Station, visited various barangays within their area of responsibility to ensure that updated barangay hotline numbers are readily available for faster communication and coordination during fire incidents.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date contact information enables prompt reporting, quicker emergency response, and enhanced public safety by preventing delays caused by outdated or incorrect hotline numbers.

Through the Ugnayan sa Barangay initiative, the Bureau of Fire Protection continues to strengthen its partnership with the community by promoting a culture of fire prevention, preparedness, and public safety.

[[ STRUCTURAL FIRE INCIDENT – RESIDENTIAL ]]

IN PHOTOS || Personnel of the Central Fire Station (CFS), Zamboanga City Fire District, supported firefighting operations during a structural fire incident involving residential structures reported at Ilang-Ilang Drive, Baliwasan Grande, Barangay Baliwasan, Zamboanga City, at approximately 2:00 PM on 02 August 2026.

The incident was initially declared under First Alarm and was subsequently raised to Second Alarm, prompting the response of ten (10) BFP firetrucks, one (1) Special Rescue Force unit, and one (1) EMS Ambulance. Auxiliary support was also provided by the Zamboanga City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ZCDRRMO), Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD), and Bernardo Water Tanker, ensuring a sustained water supply throughout the firefighting operations.

Through the coordinated efforts of all responding units, the fire was declared Fire Under Control at approximately 3:33 PM and was subsequently declared Fire Out at 4:46 PM of the same date.

The incident affected ten (10) families, with seven (7) residential structures totally burned and three (3) partially damaged. One (1) individual sustained injuries, while no fatalities were reported. Estimated damage to property is approximately Php 14 million, more or less.

The Intelligence and Investigation Section (IIS) of the Zamboanga City Fire District is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
