QUEZON CITY – Philippine Coconut Authority clinched another institutional laurel, being named Department of Agriculture - Philippines ‘Most Improved Operating Unit,’ during the recognition ceremony today, June 24, 2026.

Recognizing PCA’s laudable organization performance, the DA, led by Sec. Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr., conferred the award as part of its implementation of the FY 2025 Performance Appreciation System for Operating Units (PAS-OU).

On behalf of PCA, led by CEO & Administrator, Dr. Dexter R. Buted, Corporate Planning Services (CPS) Department Manager Ma. Odessa M. Pacaul formally received the award.

The PAS-OU serves as the DA’s performance evaluation mechanism designed to promote transparency, accountability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement among its operating units, attached agencies, and attached corporations. The assessment measures performance across key areas, including physical and financial accomplishments, good governance, and citizen-client satisfaction.

With the completion of its second year of full implementation, DA's PAS-OU continues to raise the standard it sets for the department's attached corporations.

As the lead government agency mandated to develop and regulate the coconut industry, PCA continues to pursue initiatives that strengthen organizational capability while advancing programs aimed at increasing productivity, improving farmer welfare, and supporting the long-term growth and sustainability of the Philippine coconut sector.

The Philippine Coconut Authority thanks the Department of Agriculture, partner agencies and LGUs, industry collaborators, and the coconut farming sector for the continued trust and partnership. This feat marks another step toward a stronger, more competitive Philippine coconut industry.
