In any emergency, every second counts and knowing how to properly use a fire extinguisher can save lives and property. Remember the PASS method:

P – Pull the pin to unlock the extinguisher.
A – Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
S – Squeeze the handle/lever.
S – Sweep from side to side until the fire is completely out.

Understanding and practicing this simple method can make a huge difference during unexpected fires. A fire extinguisher is only effective when used correctly, so awareness and quick action are key.

Around 1840H, Boalan Fire Sub-Station Shift A duty personnel led by SFO1 Elvin B Ramirez, Acting Sub-Station Commander, with FO2 Nashier K Paris, Shift Commander, responded to a vehicular accident at Buenagatas Boalan-Lumbangan Diversion Road, Zamboanga City.

Upon arrival, immediate assessment and care were provided.

Appropriate management and first aid were administered to the patient.
