Zamboanga City Fire District is issuing this advisory following the recent structural fire incidents in the city this month of August, emphasizing the need for heightened awareness and strict observance of fire safety measures.

As of this advisory, this office has recorded 16 structural fire incidents from August 01-17, 2026.

In view of this, the Zamboanga City Fire District, headed by FSUPT LEO S PIOQUINTO, District Fire Marshal, urges the public to remain vigilant and strictly observe fire safety measures at home, in the workplace, and in other establishments.

The public is reminded to:
• Keep electrical outlets and wiring free from overloading
• Unplug electrical appliances when not in use.
• Keep flammable materials away from children and sources of heat and
ignition.
• Never leave cooking unattended.
• Ensure that fire extinguishers and other fire safety equipment are
accessible and in good working condition.

Let us all work together to prevent fire incidents and protect lives and property.
