MZCI ROTC UNIT

On September 13, 2026, the Metro Zampen College Incorporated ROTC Unit under the leadership of Lt. Col. Husain A Esmael, Commandant composed of 26 Basic ROTC Cadets and 35 Standby Reserve personnel who are mostly ROTC Graduates from the said ROTC Unit attended the formation in connection with the 9RCDG-Wide Mustering of Standby Reserve at Headquarters, 905th CDC, Camp Arturo T Enrile, Malagutay, Zamboanga City.

Following the formation, a short dissemination conducted by Sgt Roldan G Magtagad (AGS) PA, Admin NCO to aware and inform the ROTC Cadets and Standby Reserve, the law in the constitution that ROTC is mandatory.

The said mustering is to verify also their current status, update personnel records, and assess the availability of those ROTC Graduates who are now included in the Standby Reserve for possible employment when circumstances require.

📢The Metro Zampen College Incorporated (MCZI) ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 4th Training Day of the 1st semester on September 6, 2026, at Camp Arturo T. Enrile, Malagutay, Zamboanga City.

The day began at 0700H with the stretching, accounting, and formation of basic cadets under the supervision of Lieut. Col. Husain A. Esmael (INF) PA, Commandant of the ROTCUs, assisted by Tactical NCOs and Advance Cadet Officers.

For this training day, Lt. Col. Esmael conducted a ROTC orientation where he explained the rules and regulations during the ROTC formation and introduced the ROTC Training staff.

After the orientation, the cadets proceeded to the field for drills and practical exercises, supervised by those dedicated to mastering fundamental military movements. specifically basic marching drill and the precise ex*****on of r***e drill. by the Advance Cadet Officers, Tactical NCOs. These activities aimed to strengthen their bearing, teamwork, and familiarity with commands.

At 1140H, the Advance Cadet Officers facilitated the signing of attendance. The training officially concluded at 1200H.

On August 15, 2026, the Metro Zampen College Incorporated (MCZI) ROTC Unit, actively participated in the 10th Blood Donation Activity, a simultaneous RESCOM, PA-Wide activity held in connection with the 43rd Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RESCOM, PA) Founding Anniversary.

The activity was conducted at Zamboanga Central School, Varela St., Barangay Zone 1, Zamboanga City, under the supervision of LTC Husain A Esmael (INF) PA, Commandant of the 905th CDC, assisted by other Tactical NCOs.

With the theme “Ang Inyong Matatag na Tagapag-buo ng Laang Kawal,” the activity highlighted the importance of service, unity, and volunteerism in helping those in need. The blood donation drive brought together ROTC cadets, Reservists, soldiers, and other participants who joined the activity in support of the community.

The participation of the ROTC cadets demonstrated their willingness to serve and contribute to a meaningful cause. Through this activity, they were able to show that service goes beyond training and discipline, but also includes extending help to others and being part of activities that can make a difference in the community.

The successful conduct of the blood donation activity also reflected the continued commitment of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army, together with its Reservists, ROTC cadets, and partner organizations, to promote the spirit of service and support the Filipino people.

On 170900H May 2026, the Metro Zampen College Incorporated (MCZI) ROTC Unit, together with the Ferndale College Zampen Incorporated (FCZPI) ROTC Unit, under the leadership of LTC Husain A. Esmael (INF) PA, ROTCU Commandant and Director of the 905th Community Defense Center (CDC), successfully conducted the Joint Graduation Ceremony of Basic and Advance ROTC Cadets for School Year 2025–2026 at Camp Arturo T. Enrile, Malagutay, Zamboanga City.

The ceremony formally recognized the successful completion of training of the Basic and Advance ROTC Cadets, marking an important milestone in their ROTC journey and preparation as future reservists. The activity was attended by military personnel, reservists, ROTC officers, cadets, and school representatives in support of the graduating cadets.

The program started with the singing of the National Anthem through an Audio-Visual Presentation (AVP) followed by an invocation led by MSg Ruel L. Ursal (INF) PA, First Sergeant/Chief Clerk. Ms. Diana Opendo Reyes, RCRIM, MZCI Criminology Intern Adviser, delivered the welcome remarks, warmly acknowledging the guests, officials, and graduating cadets.

The presentation of candidates for graduation was conducted by Sgt Roldan G. Magtagad (AGS) PA, Admin NCO of MZCI and FCZPI ROTCU, followed by the declaration of graduates led by LTC Husain A. Esmael (INF) PA. Certificates and awards were then distributed to deserving cadets, assisted by Ms. Diana Opendo Reyes, RCRIM and Ms. Ann Chris R. Gregorio, RCRIM, NSTP Coordinator of FCZPI ROTCU.

An important part of the ceremony was the acceptance and oath-taking of ROTC graduates as reservists, administered by MAJ Hendrick C. Abad QMS PA (RES), Battalion Commander of the 9051st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, symbolizing the cadets’ commitment to service and national defense.

The highlight of the activity was the inspirational message delivered by the Guest of Honor and Speaker, LTC Brendo C. Maglasang GSC (INF) PA, Acting Executive Officer of Task Force Zamboanga, 1ID, PA, who encouraged the graduates to uphold discipline, leadership, and patriotism as they continue their journey as responsible citizens and reservists. The ceremony concluded with the singing of “Awit Kawal” and “Pilipinas Kong Mahal” through AVP, signifying unity, patriotism, and dedication to service.
