Travel along the Polancoโ€“Macleodes Road is now safer and smoother after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Zamboanga del Norte 1st District Engineering Office completed three preventive maintenance projects to strengthen the road surface. This vital route connects Polanco's interior barangays to the town center and links residents to nearby towns and cities, including Piรฑan, Mutia, Dapitan City, and Dipolog City.

The upgraded road makes daily travel smoother and faster for local residents, especially farmers in Barangay Macleodes and nearby areas who depend on it to transport crops like rice, corn, and coconuts to markets in Polanco and Dipolog City. Beyond farming, the road gives families reliable, uninterrupted access to schools, health centers, and government offices, while also serving as an alternate route to Zamboanga del Sur during heavy traffic or emergencies.

In keeping with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.โ€™s commitment to improving connectivity and strengthening local communities, the DPWH remains committed to delivering safer, smoother, and better-quality roads that help boost the local economy and improve the everyday lives of residents in Zamboanga del Norte.
