The National Telecommunications Commission – Region IX proudly joined the Lingkod Bayani Run 2026 yesterday, September 13, at La Jardin de Maria Clara Lobregat, Pasonanca, Zamboanga City, as part of the celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.

With the theme “Stride as One, Serve the Nation,” the activity brought government employees together in promoting health, camaraderie, teamwork, and—most importantly—the spirit of dedicated public service.

For NTC Region IX, every step is a reminder that public service is not only about the work we do, but also about the heart, dedication, and unity we bring in serving the Filipino people. 💙

On September 10, 2026, the National Telecommunications Commission – Region IX, together with its personnel, on‑the‑job trainees (OJTs), and Government Internship Program (GIP) participants from Pagadian, Zamboanga, and Dipolog, led by Regional Director Elre V. Galo, actively participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED).

The activity aimed to familiarize participants with the proper actions during earthquake emergencies, while also promoting disaster awareness, preparedness, and resilience among government agencies and the community.

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Region IX headed by its Regional Director Elre V. Galo, joins the Zamboanga City Local Government Unit (LGU) and fellow local and national government agencies in the Flag Raising Ceremony in celebration of National Heroes Day 2026.

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and selfless service of the heroes who shaped our nation—and those who continue to serve the Filipino people in their own ways.

NTC Region IX Convenes TELCOs and ICT Providers for Defense and Disaster Prep

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Region IX convened local telecommunications companies and ICT providers for a strategic meeting led by Regional Director Elre V. Galo at the NTC RD Conference Room.

The high-level session focused on two core agenda items:
* Inter-Agency Territorial Defense Simulation Exercise
* Region IX Disaster Response Plans

By aligning private operators with government emergency protocols, NTC Region IX aims to ensure uninterrupted communication and robust defense readiness across Western Mindanao.

On 29 July 2026, the National Telecommunications Commission Region IX, thru the leadership of Mr. Elre V. Galo, Regional Director, and with the guest lecturer Engr. Carlo Mario P. Jacobe I, Engineer V of this office, successfully conducted the Radio Operator Certificate Seminar (ROCS) for Government in a hybrid format at the Multi-purpose Hall, Elum Air Station, Hill 900B, La Paz, Zamboanga City.

In accordance with the request endorsed by COL Marson Joseph D. Mendoza, PAF (GSC), the seminar was facilitated by NTC Region IX. The hybrid session provided technical instruction and certification aligned with NTC regulations, ensuring radar operators are qualified for lawful and efficient radio communication operations.

A Plaque of Appreciation was presented to NTC Region IX in recognition of its invaluable support and successful conduct of the Radio Operator Certificate Seminar, reflecting its strong partnership with the Philippine Air Force in advancing national security, air surveillance, and command and control capabilities.

NTC IX joins Culmination of National Anti-Trafficking Awareness Month of RIACAT 9

July 30, 2026: Zamboanga City—The National Telecommunications Commission Region IX, through its Gender and Development Focal Atty. Ricardo H. Casimiro II, and other personnel of NTC Region IX, including Engr. Carlo Mario Jacobe I and Mr. Alex Sotto, participated and attended the Culmination of National Anti-Trafficking Awareness Month, as a showcase of the agencies support and membership in the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking (RIACAT) of Region IX.

The month began as different member agencies of RIACAT Region IX had an earlier meeting and discussed the several activities planned by each agency. Finally, as the culmination of the said ANTI-TRAFFICKING MONTH, the activity held on this day began with a motorcade starting from Paseo Del Mar, this City, and ended at KCC Mall de Zamboanga. During the program proper, a video presentation entitled LIGAYA was presented by PIA Region IX, followed by a message from the chair of RIACAT, DSWD Field Office IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) Riduan P. Hadjimuddin, CESO II. There were also give away prizes from trivia quizzes. And Finally, each member agency were given Certificates of Recognition, to which NTC Region IX received said certificate, as recognition for the support to the joint efforts of Anti-Trafficking.

✈️ NTC Region IX, CAAP Zamboanga Boost Safety

Zamboanga City — July 22, 2026 — The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Region IX, led by Director Elre V. Galo, partnered with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) – Zamboanga International Airport to realign radio frequencies, strengthening aviation safety, ground operations, and emergency communications.

NTC engineers and CAAP personnel worked together in the control tower and on the ground, ensuring clearer coordination for flights, runway management, and emergency response.
