Recodo National High School

Recodo National High School Established in 2009 by virtue of Republic Act No. 9581.

The opening of the new secondary school in Barangay Recodo Zamboanga City was a project initiated and pursued by the City Mayor, Hon. Celso Lorenzo Lobregat, in line with the city’s commitment to help and assist the education sector. “We need to open new schools in the barangays to decongest thickly populated high schools”, the mayor said in an interview. By virtue of Republic Act No. 9581, otherwise known as "An Act Establishing a National High School in Barangay Recodo, City of Zamboanga to be known as Recodo National High School and Appropriating Funds Therefor", effective April 30, 2009. This was passed during the Fourteenth Congress and approved into law by Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal – Arroyo. The School opened as an independent National High School on June 01, 2009 (SY 2009-2010) offering 2002 Basic Education Curriculum to first year students.

RNHS TEACHERS IN ACTION: Caring for Our Coasts, Caring for Our Community!

In celebration of the 2026 Teachers’ Month, the dedicated teachers of Recodo National High School (RNHS) came together for a meaningful Coastal Clean-Up Drive at the Maasin Coastal Area.

More than just an activity, the coastal clean-up served as a reminder that being a teacher goes beyond the four walls of the classroom. It is also about being a role model, a responsible citizen, and an active partner in building a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable community.

With teamwork, commitment, and the spirit of bayanihan, our RNHS teachers rolled up their sleeves and worked together to help restore the beauty of our shoreline. Every piece of trash collected, every area cleaned, and every helping hand extended reflects our shared responsibility to protect our environment for the generations to come.

This activity embodies the true spirit of Teachers’ Month—celebrating educators not only for the knowledge they share, but also for the values they demonstrate through service, compassion, cooperation, and love for the community.

2-Day Clustered INSET 2026: COMPASS

Recodo National High School proudly participated in the 2-Day Clustered In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET) 2026 themed:

Competency Optimization through Mentoring, PSST Alignment, Support, and Sustainable Professional Growth 2026 (COMPASS).

Two meaningful days of learning, collaboration, mentoring, and professional growth with our partner schools, Tulungatung National High School and ECC-Baluno National High School.

Special thanks to the organizers, facilitators, resource speakers, participating schools, and KCC Mall de Zamboanga for making this professional learning experience meaningful and successful.

Congratulations, RNHS Athletes!

Recodo National High School proudly celebrates our outstanding athletes for their remarkable performance at Juego na Distrito de Ayala 2026, where our team proudly secured the OVERALL SECOND RUNNER-UP title!

With an impressive medal haul in Athletics, our Girls earned 5 Gold, 7 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals, while our Boys brought home 2 Gold, 7 Silver, and 7 Bronze medals. Your outstanding performances have earned you the opportunity to represent Recodo National High School at the Divison Level.

Special congratulations also to our Swimming athletes, who proudly earned 3 Silver and 4 Bronze medals and qualified for the Division Meet! Your achievements are a testament to your commitment, determination, and passion for sports.

RNHS Conducts National Simultaneous School Safety Drill

Recodo National High School successfully conducted the National Simultaneous School Safety Drill today, September 3, 2026, as part of its continuing commitment to strengthen preparedness and ensure the safety and well-being of learners and personnel. The activity focused on enhancing the school community’s readiness to respond calmly and appropriately to active incidents and other emergency situations, following established safety protocols and response procedures.

The drill included learner preparation, classroom discussions and protective-action walkthroughs, lockdown procedures, orderly evacuation, responder compliance, recovery and reunification, and post-drill evaluation. Through this activity, RNHS provided its learners and personnel with an opportunity to practice appropriate safety measures while strengthening coordination and identifying areas for continuous improvement in the school’s contingency plan.
