PRO 9 Assures Full Security Preparedness for the State of the Nation Address

Police Regional Office (PRO) 9 assures the public that all security and public safety measures are in place to ensure the peaceful, orderly, and secure conduct of activities related to the State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Under the directive of Police Brigadier General Dennis A. Esguerra, Regional Director of PRO 9, all Provincial Police Offices, Zamboanga City Police Office, City and Municipal Police Stations, Regional Mobile Force Battalion, and other operating units have been placed on heightened operational readiness to safeguard communities across the Zamboanga Peninsula and Sulu Province.

To ensure the uninterrupted delivery of public safety services, PRO 9 has implemented a comprehensive security plan centered on intensified police visibility, focused law enforcement operations, enhanced border control, target hardening of critical installations, and strategic deployment of personnel and resources. Checkpoints, chokepoints, foot and mobile patrols, saturation drives, and Enhanced Managing Police Operations have likewise been strengthened throughout the region.

As part of its proactive public safety efforts, PRO 9 continues to intensify its information operations through all media platforms by disseminating security advisories, anti-criminality tips, emergency hotlines, and public awareness campaigns against terrorism and other threats to public safety.

Recognizing the constitutional right of every Filipino to peaceful assembly, PRO 9 remains committed to ensuring the safety of rallyists, the general public, and all stakeholders should public demonstrations occur. In close coordination with local government units and partner law enforcement agencies, the police will maintain peace and order, protect lives and property, and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of government services and normal business operations.

All police personnel have been directed to observe the highest standards of professionalism and strict adherence to the Philippine National Police Operational Procedures, with full respect for human rights. Maximum tolerance, courtesy, restraint, and professionalism shall be exercised at all times in dealing with the public. Health and safety protocols prescribed by the Department of Health shall likewise be observed, while the Critical Incident Management System remains on standby for immediate activation should the need arise.

PBGen Esguerra emphasized that PRO 9 remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining peace and security throughout the SONA period.
"PRO 9 stands ready to fulfill its mandate of protecting our communities. We assure the public that our personnel are fully prepared to maintain peace and order, safeguard the rights of every citizen, and respond swiftly to any situation.
