Colegio de la Ciudad de Zamboanga conducted courtesy visits to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and engaged in consultative meetings regarding the institution’s plans to offer new academic programs.

The discussions strengthened institutional relations, provided clarity on regulatory and quality-assurance requirements, and identified opportunities for technical assistance, faculty development, and institutional collaboration.

Through these engagements, CCZ, as a local city college, continues to advance its commitment to expanding accessible, relevant, and quality higher education for the benefit of its students and the wider community.

‎SEPTEMBER 26, 2026|In relation to Memorandum No. 519, Series of 2026 issued by the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR), the Colegio de la Ciudad de Zamboanga, spearheaded by its College President, Dr. Maricor A. Marquez, joined and actively participated in the Fruit-Bearing Tree Growing Activity at Abong-Abong Park, Barangay Pasonanca, Zamboanga City.

‎The activity, conducted in partnership with the Office of the City Agriculturist, forms part of the City’s initiatives to promote sustainable food security, biodiversity, environmental conservation, and the protection and preservation of natural resources.
‎
‎The academic community took part in this meaningful environmental initiative, strengthening the institution’s commitment to supporting the City Government of Zamboanga in building a greener, more sustainable, and environmentally responsible community.

As part of our ongoing commitment to serve Zamboanga City, CCZ continuously delivers quality service and helps build character—instilling care for our environment through regular partnerships with the City Government and local barangays. Today’s clean-up activities are part of that continuous service and stewardship:

CCZ Ayala Campus — Participating in the International Coastal Cleanup at R.T. Lim Boulevard, organized by the Office of City Environment anf Natural Resources (OCENR).

CCZ Vitali Campus — Supporting the Vitali Bridge clean-up organized by Barangay Vitali.

Praise be to God for guiding our efforts and blessing our community with the spirit of service. Thank you to the City Agriculture Office—led by Mr. Arben Magdugo with support from Mr. Edgar Natividad—for generously providing fruit-bearing tree seedlings during our recent visit.

Their support advances both of our Ayala and Vitali campus tree-planting initiative by promoting a greener environment, improving air quality, and fostering a deeper sense of responsibility for nature among our faculty, students and staff.

We also appreciate the City Government of Zamboanga City, under Mayor Olaso’s leadership, for championing programs that strengthen our community and campus sustainability.
