PSA Region IX announces the conduct of Press Conference on the July 2026 Inflation Report, which will be held on 10 August 2026 (Monday) at 1:30 PM. PSA IX Regional Director will serve as the resource speaker for the event.

Highlights of the press conference will be posted live throughout the duration of the press conference and will be livestreamed on the PSA official page.

Officials and personnel of the Philippine Statistics Authority Region IX (PSA IX) actively participated in various capacity-building activities conducted at the PSA Headquarters.

PSA Region IX officials participated in the Training on the Conduct of Inflation Press Conference on 05 to 06 August 2026, which aimed to strengthen their understanding of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and enhance their capability to effectively conduct inflation press conferences.

Meanwhile, Mr. Jose Eric P. Quintanilla, Mr. Juliper Sangkula, and Ms. Klubelle Xerxs B. Lappang participated in the Training Workshop on the Regional Tourism Satellite Account on 04 to 05 August 2026, enhancing their knowledge and skills in the compilation, analysis, and interpretation of regional tourism statistics.

Ms. Michelle Grace C. Natividad, Ms. Shehana S. Ladjabangsa, and Mr. John Carlo F. Limen are participated in the Training of Trainers on Advancing CBMS Statistics through Statistical Standards and Classifications: Capacity Building on the SSRCS and PSIC Revision 5, which runs from 04 to 06 August 2026. The training aims to strengthen the capacity of the Local Statistical Services (LSS) in implementing and maximizing the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) through the application of the Standard Statistical Reporting and Classification System (SSRCS), the Philippine Standard Industrial Classification (PSIC) Revision 5, and other relevant statistical classification systems.

In addition, Ms. Rabia A. Nami is participating in the 2026 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS) First-Level Training on Data Processing which runs from 05 to 07 August 2026, while Ms. Sonia D. Supnet and Mr. Revin V. Cataylo are attending the 2026 Occupational Wages Survey (OWS) and Integrated Survey on Labor and Employment (ISLE) training, which runs from 03 to 07 August 2026.

The Services sector ๐Ÿข continued to account for the largest share of employed persons in the Philippines at 62.7% in June 2026.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture ๐ŸŒพ and Industry ๐Ÿญ sectors accounted for 20.0% and 17.3% of the total employment, respectively.

READ | Consumer Price Index for the Bottom 30% Income Households (2018=100): July 2026

The countryโ€™s inflation rate for households in the bottom 30% of the income distribution increased to 8.2% in July 2026, from 8.0% in June 2026.

Food inflation for the bottom 30% of income households at the national level recorded a year-on-year growth rate of 8.5% in July 2026, up from 8.2% in the previous month. In July 2026, it recorded a 3.5% annual decrease.

Inflation for the bottom 30% of income households in the National Capital Region (NCR) slowed down to 4.5% in July 2026, from 5.0% in June 2026.

Inflation for the bottom 30% of income households in areas outside NCR also showed an uptrend at 8.3% in July 2026, from 8.1% in June 2026.
