On 16th July 2026, representatives of various media outlets in Pakistan paid a detailed visit to different Roadside Depots under Allai Forest Sub-Division, Hazara Tribal Forest Division Battagram and the said delegation was led by Mr Latif ur Rehman spokesperson of the CCFEW -Dapartment.
On this occasion, the Conservator Upper Hazara Circle Mansehra Mr. Salim Khan Marwat, Divisional Forest Officer Hazara Tribal Forest Division Battagram Mr. Rafiqullah, Sub-Divisional Forest Officer Allai Forest Sub-Division Mr. Syed Zubair Shah, along with relevant forest staff, were also present.
During the visit, the Conservator Upper Hazara Circle Mansehra and the DFO Battagram briefed the media representatives in detail on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Woodlot Policy 2017 and the aims, procedures, and legal requirements of the Joint Forest Management Committees (JFMC). They clarified that all timber present at the roadside depots is procured and transported in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures. Official transport passes for the movement of timber are issued only after the completion of all legal formalities and payment of government taxes and other dues. This ensures transparency, legality, and effective monitoring.
The media representatives were also informed about the various initiatives being undertaken by the Forest Department for forest conservation, afforestation campaigns, sustainable use of natural resources, environmental protection, and mitigation of the impacts of climate change. Emphasis was also placed on public participation and the role of local communities to further strengthen forest conservation efforts.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Conservator Upper Hazara Circle Mansehra Mr. Salim Khan Marwat and the Divisional Forest Officer Hazara Tribal Forest Division Battagram Mr. Rafiqullah expressed their sincere gratitude to all media representatives and other participants. They expressed hope that the media will continue to play an effective and responsible role in highlighting the positive activities of the Forest Department, forest conservation, promotion of afforestation, environmental protection, and public awareness, in order to help realize the vision of a green, safe, and prosperous Pakistan.
