PTSDC UAF Leading Capacity Building for the Sector.
A professional training program on Finance Administration Management and e-Governance was successfully conducted by the Professional Training & Skill Development Center at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad for officers of the Agriculture Department, Government of the Punjab.
This mandatory training, designed to support the promotion of departmental officers, concluded successfully with the participation of 94 officers from the 33rd and 34th batches. The program significantly enhanced participants’ capacities in administrative leadership, financial management, and e-governance, equipping them with modern management tools required for efficient public service delivery.
In his message, Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, Vice Chancellor of of Agriculture, Faisalabad highlighted that progressive farmers are achieving nearly double the average per-acre productivity by adopting modern agricultural practices. He encouraged agricultural professionals to strengthen their engagement with communities, promote advanced technologies, and develop target-oriented innovations to address emerging agricultural challenges. He also pointed out that the decline of matter in soils is becoming a serious concern that demands practical and sustainable interventions.
Dr. Neelum Chaudhary, In-charge of PTSDC, shared that the Continuing Education Department, originally established in 1963, was upgraded to the Professional Training & Skill Development Center (PTSDC) in 2023 to broaden the scope of professional training and skill development initiatives. She emphasized that the center is actively strengthening the professional competencies of participants through specialized and industry-relevant programs.
She further highlighted that under the visionary of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, PTSDC is rapidly emerging as a leading skill development hub in the TVET sector. The center currently offers around 250 short courses aimed at producing skilled and enhancing professional expertise across diverse sectors.
