Islamabad: Honourable Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, Imran Nadeem, visited the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS), where he, along with Member of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Jennifer Bahadur, held a meeting with Asim Khan Goraya, Executive Director, PIPS, and Syed Zain Gilani, Director General (Parliamentary Development Programme).
At the outset, the Executive Director congratulated Speaker Imran Nadeem on his election as Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and extended his best wishes for his tenure.
During the meeting, the participants discussed potential areas of collaboration and capacity-building programmes for the Honourable Members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly. It was agreed that PIPS would organise a two-day orientation and induction programme for the Members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly in Islamabad in September 2026.
The Honourable Speaker appreciated the valuable work being undertaken by PIPS and noted that, during his previous tenures as a Member of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, he had benefited from several capacity-building programmes organised by the Institute.
The Executive Director appreciated the Speaker’s visit and reaffirmed PIPS’s commitment to working closely with the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly to strengthen the capacity of its Members and enhance parliamentary effectiveness.
