Emergency / Disaster-Hit Area (Local Demand)
Impact Summary
Epicenter Near Barishal / Chipursan Valley (Upper Gojal, Hunza)
Damaged Houses 300+ residential structures (damaged/cracked or uninhabitable)
Most Effected Villages: Zoodkhoon, Sh*tmerg, Ispenj, (including other 8 villages in down stream)

Critical Needs Analysis
Immediate Shelter: Hundreds of families are currently living in open air or non-winterized tents.
Prefabricated Housing: High demand for 600 units of "Pre-Feb" houses to withstand the high-altitude winter.
Logistics: The only access road to Chipursan remains vulnerable to rockfalls, hindering the supply of heavy aid.
Health: High risk of pneumonia, respiratory infections, and water-borne diseases due to freezing water sources.
📢 Appeal for Humanitarian Assistance
Hundreds of families are now under the open sky in sub-zero temperatures.
The communities of Chipursan Valley, a remote Wakhi-speaking region bordering China and Afghanistan, are facing a double crisis. The earthquake has destroyed houses and cattle sheds, leaving families without warmth or livelihoods.
Priority 1: Specialized Winter Shelter
Prefabricated Houses: Request for the Federal Government to facilitate the import/provision of 600 prefabricated houses (a specific request has been channeled toward the Xinjiang government, China).
Winterized Tents: Double-layered, insulated tents with stove-pipe outlets.
Priority 2: Heating & NFIs (Non-Food Items)
Fuel & Coal: Urgent need for coal and firewood for heating and cooking.
Warm Clothing: Heavy parkas, thermal undergarments, woollen socks, and waterproof boots for children and the elderly.
Bedding: High-thermal quilts and insulated sleeping mats to prevent hypothermia.
Priority 3: Health & Nutrition
Mobile Medical Units: Treatment for earthquake-related trauma and cold-induced respiratory illnesses.
Maternity Kits: Support for pregnant women who are disproportionately affected by the physical stress and lack of facilities.
Food Security: In-kind food assistance for households whose cattle (primary livelihood) were lost in collapsed sheds.
How to Support
The local community, through the Chipursan Local Support Organization (CLSO), is calling for the government to officially declare the valley a Disaster-Hit Area to expedite international aid.
