This beautiful artwork and vibrant decoration are a reflection of the incredible talent, creativity, and dedication of our girls. A special appreciation to Mehak Kumari, Darshna Kumari, Raj Kumari, Karishma, and many other students of our library whose hard work and imagination transformed our space into a place full of color, inspiration, and hope.

For the first time in Umerkot, the Sindhu Girls Library and Empowerment Center, Umerkot proudly organized an exclusive Sports Gala for girls, creating a safe and empowering space where young women could participate, compete, and shine.
The incredible enthusiasm, energy, and confidence displayed by the participants made this event truly unforgettable. It reaffirmed the importance of providing girls with opportunities beyond the classroom, where they can develop leadership, teamwork, self-confidence, and celebrate their potential.
We remain committed to empowering girls through education, sports, and co-curricular activities, helping them grow into confident, capable, and independent leaders of tomorrow.

We have launched a series of workshops covering different career fields as part of our Sindhu Girls Library and Empowerment Center initiative. The first session focused on Art, with nearly 50 girls from Grades 3 to 12 participating enthusiastically.
We were honored to welcome Pooja Kumari Ratnani as our guest trainer. A professional artist, she specially traveled from Hyderabad at our request to conduct this inspiring workshop. She delivered an engaging session on the field of art, its career opportunities, scope, and importance, encouraging the girls to explore their creativity and talent.
At the end of the workshop, a hands-on art activity was organized. The artwork created by the girls was truly outstanding, and their creativity can be seen in these pictures.
Our mission goes beyond education. We are committed to providing career guidance and counseling for girls by introducing them to 10 different professional fields through expert-led workshops. At the conclusion of this series, we will organize a joint meeting with the girls and their parents to help them make informed decisions about the career path that best matches each girl's interests, abilities, and aspirations.
The Sindhu Girls Library and Empowerment Center is dedicated to empowering girls through education, skill development, and mentorship. This initiative is transforming the lives of hundreds of girls by giving them the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities to build a brighter future.

Our library student, Poonam Devi, is sharing her views about the Girls Library. She is an intelligent, talented, and thoughtful young girl who continues to inspire other students through her passion for learning and personal development. She belongs to a distinguished literary family, and her grandfather, G. M. Bhagat, is a respected literary figure and poet whose contributions to literature and culture are widely appreciated.

The Girls Library is transforming the lives of many young girls by providing them with a safe, supportive, and knowledge-rich environment where they can learn, grow, and build confidence. We are sincerely thankful to Indus Tv for producing a short documentary on this initiative. Their support and recognition are highly appreciated and will encourage many more girls to pursue education and self-development.

We also warmly appeal to the people of Umerkot to encourage their daughters to become members of the library. It is a safe, productive, and educational space that empowers girls through knowledge, reading, and learning opportunities, helping them build a brighter future for themselves and their communities. 📚💖💫

Good News for the Daughters of Umerkot!
We are delighted to announce that our library has been successfully restored and upgraded. To better reflect our vision of education, empowerment, and cultural identity, it has been renamed the Sindhu Girls Library and Empowerment Center, Umerkot.
The name “Sindhu” is deeply connected to our beloved homeland, Sindh, and the historic Indus River (Sindhu Darya). For centuries, this river has nurtured our land, sustained our communities, and symbolized life, strength, and civilization. Just as a mother provides care and support to her children, the Sindhu River continues to nourish, inspire, and unite us.
The Sindhu Girls Library and Empowerment Center will now be run and strengthened with the support and participation of local community members, well-wishers, educators, and volunteers who share our commitment to the education and empowerment of girls. This collective effort reflects our belief that lasting change is achieved when communities come together to invest in the future of their daughters.

31 August 2026 was a historic day for Umerkot. On this day, the first Girls’ Library and Community Center was established with the aim of empowering girls through education. Its mission is to support and uplift marginalized communities by providing a safe and educational space for learning and personal growth.
This initiative began with the idea and dedication of Adv Kheta Ram, along with Adv Ali Aftab, Nauman Nadeem, and the team of ILM DAAN . The team worked tirelessly to collect books and resources. Notably, most of the donations and books were contributed by supporters from Lahore, another province of Pakistan, reflecting strong inter-provincial solidarity for education and social development.
Our future plan is to further expand the library by adding more books and facilities with the support and participation of the local community. This initiative aims to create lasting opportunities for girls and promote education, awareness, and empowerment in the region.
