Being facilitated by SIFC, ML-1 is more than a railway upgrade, it is a catalyst for industrial growth, transforming national logistics and connecting industrial hubs to ports.

From boosting freight movement to expanding rail capacity, ML-1 will strengthen Pakistan’s economic backbone by enhancing connectivity, reducing Karachi–Peshawar transit time from 70-90 hours to 25-30 hours, shifting freight from highways to rail, and anchoring a dedicated freight corridor.

It will also support the commercial viability of ML-2 & ML-3, while extending freight access towards Attock, Quetta, Taftan and mineral-producing regions.

ML-1 won’t just carry trains - it will move Pakistan’s industrial growth forward.

Moody’s has upgraded Pakistan’s sovereign credit rating from Caa1 to B3, citing improved governance, stronger fiscal performance and easing external risks.

The upgrade reinforces growing confidence in Pakistan’s economic reform and investment landscape, with SIFC continuing to facilitate investment, streamline processes and strengthen investor confidence across key sectors. 🇵🇰📈
