During the visit to the Ministry of Interior, parliamentarians received an informative briefing from honorable 𝐌𝐫. 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐡𝐫𝐲, 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 & 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥, on the country's counter-terrorism efforts, legislative responsibilities, and the importance of collaborative approaches to strengthening peace and security.

The workshop continued to empower parliamentarians with enhanced understanding of counter-terrorism policies, legislative responsibilities, and effective engagement strategies to strengthen peace, security, and resilience across communities. Day 1 of the Capacity Building Workshop brought together Members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to enhance their understanding of Pakistan's counter-terrorism framework, legislative responsibilities, and effective engagement practices. The sessions explored the evolving security landscape, the critical role of parliamentarians in strengthening counter-terrorism legislation, and the importance of evidence-based policymaking, institutional coordination, and community engagement.
The workshop served as a platform for meaningful dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration between legislators and experts, empowering participants with practical insights to support informed decision-making, strengthen democratic governance, and contribute to sustainable peace and security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO), in collaboration with Balochistan Centre of Excellence on CVE, Government of Balochistan, convened a high-level Roundtable Conference in Quetta on countering terrorism, countering terrorist financing and violent extremism, bringing together parliamentarians, government officials, law enforcement agencies, academia, women leaders, media, religious scholars, researchers, and civil society representatives. Participants emphasized the importance of stronger institutional coordination, public engagement, youth and women's participation, and evidence-based approaches to effectively counter terrorism, terrorist financing, and violent extremism. Together, through collaboration and shared commitment, we can build a safer, more peaceful, and resilient Balochistan.

Together with the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights, SSDO convened a high-level briefing on the Federal Budget 2026–27 through a child rights lens. The discussion underscored the urgent need for greater and more transparent investments in children’s education, health, protection, and well-being. Every budget decision should contribute to building a brighter future for Pakistan’s children.

The Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights of the National Assembly, under the chairpersonship of its Convenor, Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, MNA, in collaboration with the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) Pakistan, convened a detailed briefing session featuring an insightful presentation by budget experts on the Budget 2026–2027 through a Child Rights Lens.
The presentation enabled Members of Parliament to better understand the classification of child-specific expenditures into direct expenditure, indirect expenditure, and general public expenditure, and provided a comprehensive analysis of key sectors including the education development budget of the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, the development budget of the National Health Services, as well as provincial allocations in health, education, nutrition, WASH (water, sanitation & hygiene), and disaster/flood rehabilitation and management. The presentation also reviewed allocations under the Prime Minister’s Special Initiatives.
An interactive discussion followed, during which Parliamentarians Ms. Shaista Pervaiz, MNA; Ms. Farah Naz Akbar, MNA; Ms. Kiran Imran Dar, MNA; Ms. Saba Sadiq, MNA; Ms. Zeb Jaffar, MNA; Ms. Asia Naz Tanoli, MNA; and Ms. Kiran Haider, MNA engaged with Mr. Amer Ejaz, Executive Director Syed Kausar, Director Programs Muhammad Shahid Khan and Director Quality Assurance Ms. Maryam Jawad on the effectiveness of child-focused allocations in the current budget and identified key gaps requiring policy attention.
The session underscored the importance of strengthening child-responsive budgeting and evidence-based parliamentary oversight for advancing child rights in Pakistan.

SSDO organized the “She Leads – Experience Sharing & Project Closing Ceremony” in Sialkot on 30 April 2026. The event brought together over 100 participants, including women leaders and male allies, representatives from district government departments, and local stakeholders associated with the SHE Leads Women Leadership Program. Participants reflected on their journey, shared personal experiences, and highlighted key achievements. The event served as a platform to celebrate collective progress in empowering community women leaders and strengthening inclusive leadership at the grassroots level.

Honored to welcome Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, to SSDO Head Office in Islamabad on the occasion of SSDO’s 10th Anniversary.

The visit highlighted the importance of collective action in strengthening Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism, terrorist financing, and violent extremism. The Governor appreciated SSDO’s decade-long contributions to research, policy dialogue, institutional capacity building, and stakeholder engagement in the areas of CT, CFT, and CVE.
