HEC Leadership Consultation on Curriculum Reforms & Good Governance

The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, in collaboration with Higher Education Department (HED), KP, is organising a high-level Leadership Consultation on Curriculum Reforms and Good Governance in KP Higher Education on August 22–23, 2026 at the University of Swat.

Led by HEC, Vice Chancellors of KP universities, senior faculty members, and HED KP will deliberate on standardising and harmonising university curricula in accordance with HEC guidelines, while strengthening good governance mechanisms across higher education institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The consultation reflects HEC’s commitment to academic excellence, institutional excellence, and quality higher education, paving the way for a stronger and more sustainable future for higher education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The three-day Strategic Planning & Leadership Excellence workshop organised by National Academy of Higher Education, (NAHE), HEC concluded in Islamabad, bringing together university leaders from AJK, GB, KP and the Rawalpindi region.

The Chief Guest, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, emphasised that Pakistan’s progress is closely linked to strong universities that promote education, character-building, innovation and responsible citizenship.

The workshop focused on strategic planning, governance, financial sustainability, resource mobilisation, performance management and AI in higher education, while providing a platform for experience-sharing and collaborative solutions.

Chairman HEC Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar highlighted the importance of effective governance, adherence to statutory regulations and collective efforts to strengthen the academic and research ecosystem.

In her closing remarks, Dr. Noor Amna Malik, MD NAHE, appreciated the Chairman Senate’s support for higher education and highlighted NAHE’s role in strengthening university leadership. She also underscored the financial challenges faced by universities and called for greater prioritisation and support for higher education.

University leaders appreciated the initiative as a valuable platform for learning, collaboration and strengthening institutional leadership for a stronger higher education sector.

The National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), HEC, has launched a three-day workshop on “Strategic Planning and Leadership Excellence” at NIBAF to strengthen the leadership and management capacity of senior university leaders.

The workshop brings together Vice Chancellors, Pro-Vice Chancellors, senior Deans and statutory heads of public sector universities from AJK, GB, KP and the Rawalpindi region. It focuses on strategic planning, institutional sustainability, resource mobilisation, governance, performance management, AI and digital transformation, and innovation in higher education.

Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar, Chief Guest at the opening ceremony, emphasised the crucial role of university leaders in driving higher education reforms, promoting sustainable institutional development and preparing graduates for the modern world. She stressed stronger industry-academia linkages and urged universities to move beyond conventional approaches.

NAHE Managing Director Dr. Noor Amna Malik highlighted the importance of active participation, collaboration and collective problem-solving among universities.

The three-day workshop features expert-led sessions on financial management, university governance, resource mobilisation, performance management and AI in higher education.

Candidates with Pending Payment Status for Law Admission Test (LAT)

A number of candidates have reported technical issues while submitting the fee for the Law Admission Test (LAT), due to which their payment status is still showing as “Payment Pending.”

To facilitate these candidates, the LAT registration portal has been re-opened exclusively for candidates with pending payment status. Eligible candidates must complete their registration by paying the test fee through 1LINK online payment services.

Important: Candidates are advised not to use JazzCash, MCB or Meezan Bank mobile/online apps for fee payment.

Final Deadline: Friday, August 21, 2026

Note: No claims regarding pending payments or non-submission of LAT applications will be entertained after the deadline.
