🤝 It was a pleasure to meet Senator Sitara Ayaz, Secretary-General of the International Parliamentarians Congress.

Our conversation began with warm memories of TİKA’s early years in Pakistan and the long-standing spirit of cooperation between our countries.

We also exchanged views on possible areas of future collaboration, including strengthening dialogue and engagement among parliamentarians.

🐝 Happy World Bee Day!

Since 2017, TİKA and HBRI-NARC have been working together to strengthen Pakistan’s beekeeping sector through practical, sustainable, and technology-based cooperation.

One of the latest outcomes of this partnership is Pakistan’s first modern wax foundation sheet production unit established with Turkish technology. Producing up to 450 sheets per hour, the facility helps beekeepers access cleaner, standardized, and more efficient materials — improving honey production while reducing disease risks and costs.

For us, supporting beekeeping is not only about honey. Bees play a critical role in pollination, biodiversity, food security, and ecological balance.

🌍 Stronger cooperation for a more climate-resilient future!

A TİKA facilitated Turkish delegation, led by Mr. Maruf Aras, Deputy General Manager of General Directorate of Combating Desertification and Erosion of Türkiye’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and experts from State Hydraulic Works (DSİ), the General Directorate for Water Management held high-level meetings and technical field visits on flood management and early warning systems.

From Islamabad to Lahore and KP, the delegation exchanged experiences with Pakistani counterparts on:

💧 Flood & river basin management
📡 Early warning systems
🏔️ Glacier and avalanche management
🌱 Combating desertification
🏗️ Climate-resilient infrastructure
♻️ Zero-waste initiatives
🔬 Joint training & research opportunities
